When did i give an excuse? You said it had an IPL advantage but it didn't. That's all i said and it's clearly true comparing it with movies released after IPL the previous years.

Tannu weds mannu 2 was the epitome of regressiveness, tannu should have left the douche who was marrying another woman in spite of not even being divorced

Yes and Neelam staying with Kamal even after the complete moron he had been for so many years and then forgiving all his wrongdoings in a matter of seconds was the most progressive thing.😆😆

Bravo.

kamal learns in the end that is why he asks his son in law to leave and supports his daughter, that was the whole point of the movie, to portray feminism realistically, they show what anil did was wrong, however mannu never ever regretted the shit he did and insulted his wife by nearly marrying in front of her

Badlapur, DLKH, NH10, Piku, TWMR...

Such regressive cinema.

Meanwhile DDD the only progressive movie to come out this year.

Add PK to it!! It took on the major religion of the country and see how it broke all records! And that is anything but a regressive movie! ridiculous argument! 🥱

🤣 I knew it wasn't worth arguing in the previous thread. @nkapoor : If you are so pissed off at TWMR, it's not Indian audience fault man! May be, if you had watched the movie you would have found the 'Divorce' portions in it.

-----------

Anyway, too many BO talks guys. 😆 You know, Ranveer took me back to his Band Baaja Baraat days with this movie. While watching BBB, Never ever did I think he would make it 'Big', 'coz I assumed he wouldn't be able to carry off a different kind of role. I thought he was tailor made for only Bittoo-like roles. But oh wow! How super-duper wrong was I and I'm glad RV proced me wrong. Now I just have a couple of more icchas, I want to watch him work in a psychological thriller. Now I'm more than sure that he would kill it.

Why so much negativity for TWMR in DDD reviews?
It is not good to generalize entire audience as regressive or progressive. Some just watch movies to be entertained. I cannot say which is regressive or progressive since i have watched neither but this generalization of audience is not healthy

Jeez this movie was more a candy floss thing! I don't think it was AT ALL intended to give ANY message at all!
Its target audience was urban multiplex and NRI audiences..

And NO not because of the storyline or incidents.. Btu because of the backdrop, narration, etc..

I will tell a slight example..
Neelam who is upset binges on chocolate..,

Who from tier 2/3 audiences will be able to relate to that?

I do that when i am upset, but then I am from the audience they targeted the movie at.

Next, a more serious one
Son saying to mom's face about how she doesn't leave his cheating father and pretend to ignore..
Some found it was very unrealistic that a kid talks to parents like that..

I have known that in my mom's best friend's family.. Her elder daughter has all her teen/adult life has asked aunty what the hell was she still doing with her dad! (di is a doctor and is married and even now she tells her mom its beyond her that aunty is staying with him!! ) And her dad is very much like Kamal Mehra in this story and its a family of 4, elder daughter - very focused and gifted, younger son who is a total light weight who enjoys being cushioned by financial security.

These r little stuff.. its not about accepting/regressive etc.. its how much of it u can relate to and think is realistic.. so it will appeal more to u..

And if not, this movie doesn't really has a good enough story to hold the attention of someone through sheer amazing intriguing story.
A great script, a great story will hold ur attention any way! Btu a mediocre story like this will only appeal to people who will kinda see and laugh and understand the life shown here..

Don't call an entire nation regressive just cz they didn't liek a movie!

You may not relate to entire movie but you will definitely relate to something in the movie...even the single screen audience...
Though I felt the movie is pretty average...I didn't like your analysis for the movie at all...dont know why but just didn't ...no offense
