Vishal Bhardwaj's next is a period drama set against the backdrop of Second World War

Shahid play an army soldier, while Kangana will essay the role of an action star of 1940s. Kangana's role is feisty and fiery, exactly the brand that the actress represents in real. Saif Ali Khan will be seen as director, who mentors Kangana and is in love with her.

The Haider director is leaving no stone unturned to give a realistic touch to his movie.BollywoodLife managed to get EXCLUSIVE photos from the sets of Rangoon, which recreates the era in one of Mumbai's famous studios. One look at these pics and you will notice how beautifully the makers have recreated the era of 1940s.

A source revealed, "This set is particularly created for a special classic song. Shahid and Saif have been rehearsing for the song for the last 15 days as they have to can the shoot in a day or two. Vishal has demanded both his actors complete the song in one take. The length of the song is tentatively more than 10 minutes. Also Kangana will not be grooving with the two heroes in this number, but might display her action avatar in this song."

The Haider director is extremely excited about the film and had said in an earlier interview, "Rangoon is a classic tale that will have the musical charm of Moulin Rouge, the romance of Casablanca and the intensity and drama of Saving Private Ryan. Like Saving Private Ryan the film is too set against the backdrop of World War II."With Vishal having promised so much in one film, we cannot wait to watch his treat for us on 70 mm. Rangoon is slated to release on October 14 this year.
