How? Didn't you say distributors had bought the movie at Rs. 90 crore? Then it needs at least 120 crore to recover money (If distributors are getting satellite rights).

More if they aren't getting satellite rights.

bhai agar if you are paying 90 crs for a cycle, and if you manage 91 crs while selling; your revenue is 1 cr.
here we are talking about india verdict.
120 crs nett might be required worldwide but even that is not clear because we don't know how much distributors bought it for in foreign territory or how much Excel spent for outside india release.

My calculations are only for all india verdict. And you can trust me on that, trade will designate it a hit at 100crs+ nett😊

the budget of movie is 65 crs + 15 crs (promotion costs)

The reviews are quite mixed unlike Piku and TWMR, which had almost 100% positive reviews. That helps in generating a good WOM. Especially for a film like DDD which has such an urban appeal and no superstars. Such an audience depends a lot on reviews. The film will need excellent WOM and a huge jump over the weekend to take it to safety.

The biggest hurdle for DDD is that TWMR is still doing very well. I think DDD will do very well out of India and will underperform in domestic market. The budget is too high to make it a superhit.

Didi, budget doesn't matter. How much money distributors paid + promotion cost matter.

If the distributors had paid 90 cr. They need to earn 180 cr. nett (world wide) to recover cost. Eros usually take the satellite right along with distribution right. That's why they need to make 120 cr nett (world wide) instead.

But, the problem here is Eros only bought the international distribution right of the movie. So, I'm sure they aren't getting the satellite right.

Still, I'm giving the satellite right to Eros so that fans don't do chillam chilli.

So, my calculation says 120 cr. nett (world wide) to recover money. More than 120.. it can be called a hit.

Firstpost praised Ranveer unanimously, yay! They generally rip movies and actors apart in their reviews, so it's good to read something positive from them. A lot of the reviews point out these flaws: thin plot, bad music and pace.

If anything, I wish DDD had better music. SEL did such an average job this time.

@bold:that's quite odd...the films of Farhan and Zoya r known for good music...when was the last time SEL delivered good music? only Gallan Goodiyan is ok but the rest of the album is meh...if the music was good then it would have certainly benefited the film a lot...
