I just saw the movie today and its not Zoya's worst film but rather third best film.

The script was simple and explanatory but too many things were going on at once. He is not interested in her...she is not happy with him...they love each other but can't be with each other.

But it was fun. I for one did not find these 171 minutes too long for my liking.

My only big complain...TOO LESS of Farhan Akhtar!!!!!! I wanted more of him. Was really sad to see his name under "Special Appearance" in the beginning.

The Mehra family rocked...everyone from Anil Kapoor to Priyanka Chopra. Glad Ranveer stepped out from his comfort zone and delivered a more mature but fun loving guy. Shefali Shah gave a heart felt performance. Anil Kapor reminds everyone film by film that he is too young to play someone's father!!! And I REALLY REALLY REALLY loved Priyanka and Farhan's chemistry and their story. It felt more realistic and touching as compared to Ranveer and Anushka. Loved how they ended up even though that we will have to imagine.

I want a Pluto!!!!!

Dil Dhadakne Do Holds Firm On Monday

Dil Dhadakne Do has held well on Monday with collections looking at around a fall of 40% from collections on Friday. This would give it a 6 crore nett Monday. The fall could be 2-3% more or less but either way its a good hold.

The holds on Monday outside the metros are good with a Jaipur going from 18.5 lakhs on Friday to 11.50 lakhs on Monday. Lucknow grossed 9.25 lakhs on Friday and Monday is 5.25 lakhs. A major circuit like Delhi/UP is looking at a 35% fall from Friday. The metros have collected well from day one so its a plus that these big centres have held. The collections are not high but at least the film will now manage a few weeks run in these cities.

The lifetime business will be dependent on what happens over the next two weeks as the window is limited and there are major releases this week and next week.

Dil Dhadakne Do is the biggest worldwide opener of 2015 edging past Tanu Weds Manu Retuns. Dil Dhadakne Do grossed grossed 48 crore (GROSS) in India and grossed $3.15 million (19.5 crore apprx) Overseas for a Worldwide GROSS of 67.5 crore. The top Worldwide openers of 2015 are as follows.

1. Dil Dhadakne Do - 67.50 crore apprx

2. Tanu Weds Manu - 66.50 crore

3. Gabbar Is Back - 62 crore

4. Baby - 47 crore

5. Piku - 44 crore.

The top three which are Dil Dhadakne Do, Tanu Weds Manu Returns and Gabbar Is Back have a gap to the rest. Comparatively the Dil Dhadakne Do Overseas performance is better as it is among the top twenty openings of all time while India figures are just outside the top thirty.

Girish Johar posted gurgaon ,Kanpur numbers..and DDD seems to have held up in North too.

Yet Amod Mehra says ship wrecked..Bansal too tweeted fell BADLY LOL..There seems to be an agenda..

Some are invested in HAK and with Jurassic Park releasing next week..They are trying to woo exhibitors and try hard to wreck DDD and get extra screens..

The world wide acceptance despite poor promotional material,shows that it is on solid ground..It is not as though great music and fabulous promos brought audience to the theaters during the weekend..

6 cr on a Monday is not bad at all

What remains to be seen is whether it can get to 130 cr and be declared a Hit.

I really liked the movie. Ranveer and Priyanka were excellent especially Ranveer who i thought did a better job than Ranbir would've done. Farhan and Anushka were however wasted.
