BTW, 3I and PK are not masala but they broke records.

Masala is being called reason of their success. But truth is that genre was revived by success of Ghajini.

Otherwise romance and urban yuppie films were ruling the roost.

They made masala back in vogue. Masala didn't make them. 😆

I already said Aamir is the superstar. He can sell anything, but sorry if I can't bow down to Kings SRK and Salman. 😃

Also you may classify Ghajni as "masala", but I classify it as a psychological thriller. I don't see it as masala at all.

Trade decides everything.

Salman has huge hits in different genres. Earlier ones were family entertainers. Current ones are masala.

He gave biggest hit of the year 2005 in supposed bad phase. That was a comedy film.

SRK's consistency since debut is unmatched. Though yes he is behind other Khans now.

You do not see Ghajini as masala but it was tagged as one.

STATS and FACTS matter.

Not these "in my opinion" or "I don't consider" type personal views.

Lol, Masala? As If Khans have been doing this all their careers.

SRK most movies are romantic and comedy genres. Salman's most movies are family entertainers, romantic and comedy genres. And, it's from these genres that they have most of their famous and popular movies and have ATBBs. It's from these movies they became famous, Superstars, and The Khans. The rest was history. Not from Masala. 😆

It's been in recent that they started making success from Masala as well. It's funny how people conveniently forget and ignore their success from more than two decades and just look at what they are doing for the past 3-5 years. They act as if Khans are riding on Masala or that's what they have been doing for all of their years in industry, or they got became superstars by doing Masala Lol.

They deserve the success especially when I look at the stars today. How long has it been since Shahid, Ranbir, etc have come? But no one has yet given any ATBBS while Khans did in their first few years itself. They had ATBBS and hits in their early careers unlike today actors who can't manage to do the same. Today actors are mainly PR made stars unlike how the past actors were.

When did I deny that Aamir is # 1 Superstar of Bollywood? You dont have to repeat his worldwide figures.
But why just glorify the 3 Khans as the only REAL stars? 😕 That doesnt reflect the reality that HR, Akki, AD and RK are also there in ATBB list which is unfair!

- First, I keep mentioning Aamir because he is the pinnacle at the moment. The gold standard. So its better to compare him with everyone, as you do in every other walk of life.

- Second, an ATBB is a movie that does the following;

a- Unprecedented/unheard of business.

b- Its ROI is huge.

c- It earns a truck load of profits. Meaning, it considerably multiplies its investment cost.

- An example is Aashiqui 2. It is a blockbuster while HNY is just a hit and BB is above average. The first held true to the above criteria while the later two didn't.

- The only four ATBBs since 2007 have been;

Ghagni, 3 Idiots, Dhoom 3 and PK.

Answers to some other posts:

- Piku is going to do 100 gross worldwide. The 100 crore club has members who achieve the feat in domestic net collections. There are huge no. of movies that have grossed 100 crores worldwide. It is nothing at this point.

- Akshay is a star, same for Ajay and HR. But they are not close to Aamir, Salman or Shahrukh.

- The only measuring factor we have is BO and the results are crystal clear. Its;

Aamir.

Daylight.

Shahrukh, Salman.

Did you watch TV reports about it or read articles and reviews? I didn't think one would require evidence for that!

Ghajini is credited along with Wanted for reviving masala genre.

Look up FACTS about what happened than throwing around just opinions.

This forum witnesses such topics each time a hyped newbie fails or one of the Khans succeeds/fails. 😆

I cannot believe they require same recapitulation of facts every year.

Ultimately it boils down to begging them to retire or cursing and hoping or them to retire. 😆

At the end of the day Khans won't retire unless someone does overtakes them. They ain't stepping aside or serving movies to new actors just so that their records can be broken and their superstar tag is crowned to someone else.

If Ranbir Ranveer Sid Varun can break their records, well done and enjoy your success. But if they cannot then try and achieve it on your own.

Bollywood existed before them and will continue to do so but ridiculing them for ruling for decades and giving Bollywood a golder run is just too childish.

Appreciate badlapur and ek villian without belittling the Khans BO pull.

Amir awesome choice, SRK salman very bad choices but they guarantee a hit. They are money churners, the day new comers will make worst movie recover the money is the day their BO pull will be evident.
