Just wanted to say.. like them or hate them.. Khans are the real stars and they are the one that bring the most money and box office to the industry...

In future there is a list of potential hits coming up like TWM2,DDD,Tamasha,Brothers,Bajirao Mastanti,ABCD2

None of the above movies had Khans...But recovered the cost and some went on to make profits

Yes Khans and HR are the only crowd pullers among current BW stars

But if movies like BV and DBB end up flopping,it has to do with the movie itself than star presence..BW audience need their dose of glamour,fun,action,romance,hit songs for a movie to go on to become a 100 cr hit or a huge money spinner...Art movies or non commercial niche ones hardly stand a chance ONLY if they have a recoverable budget irrespective of positive WOM/reviews..they can make profits at the most but to be year's biggest grosser an entertainment package which has repeat value should be showcased to viewers...You make a YJHD without Khans still ppl throng the theatre...cuz it offers them what they yearn to see after a hard day of work...average story line but great presentation,relatable characters,amazing chemistry b/w the leads,catchy music,beautiful locales etc etc...All this frustration shown by industry ppl during the first half of 2015 is cuz they kept unfair expectations from audience.😆.

By khans I meant the 3 big KHANS...

Shahrukh , Aamir and salman khan..

BW existed before Khans and it will exist after them too.

But yes, currently they are the only true crowd pullers. And benchmark for maximum potential at the BO.

There's been no solid challenger to them after HR.

People can talk about a YJHD but it's a fact it didn't set any new records.

Different, risky films also make better money if a Khan is in those.

Many hits and profit making films are there but true blockbusters are delivered by Khans mainly.

Yeah, they are holiday stars.

You said it ... I cant imagine bollywood without the Khans tbh ...Right now, they define bollywood... If a khan movie doesnt release in a year, the year will be so dull 😳

Khans Hai Toh Bollywood ZINDA hai Aaj, warna moderate success hits pe kabka diwaala nikal gaya hota industry ka 😆


This year, no film has even touched 15 Cr mark on any day, there are some hits this year, like Badlapur, DLKH, NH10(Semi-Hit), now Gabbar/Piku clear status is not out as they are clean hits or just Semi-hit to average. Even if u include last 2, so there are just 5 HIT films in 5 months for 2015.

So now only this EID/DIWALI/XMAS, you will see real BUMPER OPENING, Housefull Boards all across the nation, not just 2-3 cinema halls...... Khan Rules Baaki Fails 😛

Of course the Khans hold star power that is unmatchable.

But at the same time, I think it's great that other actors and movies bring a lot of variety to the cinema today.
