Otherwise she's a talented actress who tries to do different roles. She's among the few actresses who are ambitious and tried to diversify. All this, without any filmi background is quite an accomplishment.

Nobody is universally liked here.. Except Paresh rawal and Tabu.

Its not really about her not being a star kid. People are just not as interested in her. Look at Katrina and Deepika or Aish..the media hypes them up like no other and there are not star kids. Part of it also has to do with her PR. Katrina and Deepika PR always keeps them hyped and in the news. PC is basically sister of Anu. Both talented but don't have good PR.

Nah I don't mean media specifically hypes star-kids, but there is some exclusive push for starkids from media tbh. It's not THAT relevant to PC's case but even during her time, that happened quite a bit. Idk, it's just an observation, doesn't necessarily has to do with PC.

Yeah I agree about the PR thing. Plus, PC never managed to officially date anyone famous either lol.

SRK rumour dented her image. She's now made fun of as modern day Rekha. Though she's not as brazen as Rekha was and still is, in her craze for the married megastar.

She is the only one after Kajol to even win best villain awards. Despite National Award etc, they still do not bother.

Forbes did credit her for her attempts to diversify.

Far more useless, overhyped divas have received better media coverage and film offfers than her. Hail nepotism! 🥱

I think even before SRK rumours came up, she was not very well liked. Somehow I feel industry undermines her achievements. I see so many snarky comments by journos and twitter celebs on her Quantico trailer. These are the same guys who will have nothing to say about any boo boo a star kid makes. They made fun of her reddit ama too.

^^ Not "somehow", the industry does undermine her achievements and it makes you realize why non star kids like Deepika, Kangana etc are so desperate to have good bonds with influential people. Because completely worthless star-kids like Sonam are still getting good movies after years of failure. Disgusting tbh.

Kangana was viewed in sympathetic light cos wasn't she underage at 17 when she had an affair with Pancholi, of course Pancholi being the sleazebag that he is, gave that really infamous, distasteful interview about the affair, his wife exonerating his shenanigans and sticking with him for saat janams despite it. That pretty much sealed the deal in her favour. It didn't help Priyanka that Akshay and SRK are beloved and it was her second time that her affair with a married man hit the front news.
What's funny is that some SRK fans were initially grateful cos it dispelled the gay rumours, only later did they view her as a man-eater/a play-out of her character in Aitraaz. 😆

I guess her determination/ambition to succeed is far greater than other actresses and it comes across as aggressive. I for one find her sheer grit, refreshing.
