So happy for the success of the film. This is one movie where you just cannot take credit away from everyone involved in the film.

You cannot take credit away from what Deepika has done in the film. She is present right from the first scene to the last, she takes the story forward. You also can't say it's only Deepika's movie because Piku is incomplete without Bhashkor who is such a big part of the story, and again the movie is incomplete without Irrfan without whom the journey of Piku wouldn't have been possible. Then comes the writers, director and the whole crew of the film. All the money and the success is the movie's achievement as a whole. The audience won't remember whose movie it was, whether it's Deepika's,Big B's,etc...we only remember the movie at the end of the day and that's why everybody involved in this film deserves equal credit. That's the beauty of Piku-where no one stands out seperately but is presented as one single entity-which for me is how a good film should be.

Earlier people who dislike Deepika were saying the film won't do well at all.Now when the film is doing well, the benchmarks have again changed.Same thing happened during Ram Leela. And this is the most annoying part of the forum as well as twitter. You dislike a particular actor=diss the whole film like anything. Same thing is happening with Bombay Velvet in the forum. Half of them might not have even seen the film but enjoying the bad reviews and the poor collections just becauyse they don't like Ranbir.

Can't we just analyze a movie keeping aside our hate/dislike for the particular actor starring in the film?

Anyways, I am really happy how the film is progressing in the cinemas.I don't care it it's 100 Cr. worldwide or domestic, the end result is such a simple movie is being liked by people and that's a positive thing for the producers who would be willing to back such simple stories in the future in Bollywood. Simple stories are often the most difficult to make and I hope as an industry, Bollywood does produce such movies in the coming years.👍🏼

Finally watched it.

And did I like it? I LOVED it!

If a Girl is unmarried and father is reaching 70, in most Indian households, the biggest worry of the father would be - what will happen to my daughter when I die. Uski shadi nahi hui.

Piku gives you whole another perspective. Bhaskor does not worry of what would happen to Piku. Rather he thinks.. Marriage without purpose is Low IQ. That there is lot more for a woman in life than marriage. Her own identity, her dreams, her goals, herself. Bhaskor's way of seeing of Marriage and girls gives you complete different aspect where in our culture Marriage seem to be the ultimate goal.

And, Last dialogue sums it up so aptly. 'Baba ne mujhe itna to prepare kiya hai. Kar lungi Manage'. I loved it. You don't worry for your kid's future after you are gone, rather you prepare them to face it.

And that ending gets a Standing ovation. Take a bow Juhi and Soorjit.

as for characters, I loved Bhaskor and Masi. ❤️❤️❤️ Love Love Love. Amit ji and Mausami stole the show for me.

Deepika nailed her part. Every frame her eyes spoke more than the dialogues. Piku has captured DP's eyes most beautifully and she emoted thru them. Spell bounding.

Irrfan had the most hilarious one-liners. There is no second thought that he would get it right. I loved his amused expressions at Bhaksor's antics and then his out-bursts at this crazy critical family. 😆

Casting director got every actor Perfectly suited for the role. I can not imagine anyone else playing any role of Piku.

Whole cast and crew gets 5/5 for 2 hours of pure brilliance. 👏

And what makes the experience even more beautiful is the success and praise Piku is getting. Loving the fact that our audience is appreciating such simple and relatable movies. 😃

spoilers

I never even thought about that daughter marriage angle so carefully, but I love it even more because of the right message it sends for daughters and women.
i thought more of the the wonderful life choices, medical choices message that it gave where bhaskor was doing what he wanted when he was older and daughter supported it, and the powerful conversation that bhaskor had with rana about his father, why did he allow such things, we have a choice and what does all that change anything at the end? a message that not only India but the entire world needs.
wonderful writing ,directing, casting, music, and acting by everyone.
i'll have to see it again.

look like most of Deepika haters really want Tanu Wed Manu become hit and stop Piku. Now they are using Kangana to pull down Deepika and some Deepika fans also really want it happen.😆

^^Piku is a near flawless film..which has found universal acceptance.it is a progressive film, which is made with genuine intent.

What more can you ask of a film.It has fulfilled every criteria.People loved Deepika as a daughter.

No other film can take away anything from Piku.

Don't worry 😃

I like both Deepika and Kangana as actresses! I dont understand why people have to pull down a particular actress to support another? 😕 Why not appreciate both girls for their acting prowess?
