Javed Akhtar had said the same thing few years ago in an interview to Femina.

Every man is a dormant rapist. Men strip and rape women with their eyes alone. Women do not know what a man's mind is like, what he sees them like in his imagination, they don't realise intention behind compliments, women are naive and should be careful etc.

These were his exact words.

I personally do not agree with it because women can be perverted as well and nowadays cases of women abusing young teenaged boys are also surfacing.

But yes, there is a fear psychosis created in mind of females to be careful of males. Some call women as temptress or path to hell.

I don't like this tension and suspicion among both sexes. Looks like we have to launch a mutual respect movement to clean up the situation.

So much dumbness in the name of "feminism". UNCALLED for.. Come On. I am a women myself and I am all for women empowerment and rights but people are going over-board with such comments. We have to remember, MEN ARE ALSO HUMAN. Unfortunately, women are still fighting for certain rights and freedom till this date. But, it's about gender equality NOT superiority. The moment they forget that in the name of women empowerment, it crosses the line and goes from feminism to pseudo-feminism.

If every man is a potential rapist then every woman is a potential gold digger. I know plenty of stand up guys in my real life. None of them would rape a woman even if she were walking around naked. Come on...people have the ability to restrain their carnal desires, we are humans, we have the ability to distinguish between right and wrong, most of us do anyway. I love Nandita and how original she is but here she took it way too far. I completely disagree with this statement. It's quite appalling to see such a generalized statement coming from Nandita. It would have made sense if it came from some BW bimbette but this is hard to believe. Maybe she got carried away. 🤔
