I like Hrithik, and don't even like Kat much, but for Bang Bang they both deserved equal pay. Same goes for Kat's Mere Brother Ki Dulhan in that case in fact she should have been paid more than Imran. Funny how "starpower" works only for males not females in Bollywood.

I don't think it is math at all. I think the problem is the lack of diverse roles for females in movies. Most of the time in blockbuster movies the female is limited to a "flowerpot". Rarely do I catch complex or interesting female characters. One item song. Seven minutes later. And she disappears.

Unless I am mistaken in Friends all six of them were given equal importance and all six of them got paid equally. The show began in 1994. Been 21 years since then. The same applies to The Big Bang Theory. Kaley, Jim, and Johnny went with equal pay. Unlike our stars Jim is not the one arguing I am the one getting the audience, as I play Sheldon.

So it is possible, but Indian Television and Bollywood have a long way to go to change their attitude!

If I am not mistaken...in the Indian TV soaps...most of the times these established female actors are paid more than there male counterparts...I read it somewhere.
