How does Aamir package himself as better than everyone else? Is it because he hosts a show like SMJ? I don't think hosting a social awareness show sets him up as having a higher moral or ethical bar. Why should a comic have greater privilege in terms of hypocrisy than an actor? Both are selling make-belief and entertainment stuff.
It isn't just the fact that he hosts a social awareness show. It is the lofty self righteous image he has created for himself. I think the TVF video about Arnub vs. Free speech beautifully captured Aamir Khan.
All three examples in my post are equally guilty of hearsay. No one is absolved of hearsay. It is only ironic when it comes from Aamir Khan because 1) He objected to hearsay against PK and 2) He paints himself as someone above such things.
