Sid had the most hype during soty

but now alia seems to have taken the lead followed by varun

sid is criticised for being too wooden and stiff and his future projects are okay where as varun has impressed many with his acting recently and is probably the busiest among the new guys

has varun left sid behind in stardom and acting?

I think Sidharth is more popular because many people find him extremely attractive, but Varun is more promising as an actor and dancer.

Don't know about IF, but a majority of the people that I know in real life feel Varun overacts too often. Don't know anyone who thinks he is attractive either. I personally also don't think that Varun is a bigger star or a better actor.

No. At this point definitely not. Future no one knows.

While Varun had two hits Sid had an average movie and then a 100cr movie. So at the very least they are on equal footing though one could legitimately argue that Ek Villain put Sid ahead of Varun.

As for talent and being wooden and not wooden I think a lot of it is subjective and frankly biased editorial. Varun is more talented but Sid is not as wooden as some in here claim. And I disagree that Sid's future movies are just OK. Brothers has the right amount of buzz already for this time frame before the release. His pairing with Katrina is already generating a lot of interest. Varun has Badlapur which will probably get him great reviews at least. Box office is up in the air at this point. But ABCD and if this rumored movie with Rohit Shetty happens might give him box office success but what kind of critical acclaim will he get after a Rohit Shetty movie? And if he does anymore films with his father then forget it. David Dhawan isn't exactly Raju Hirani.

Bottom line I think it's way too early to declare one a bigger star or actor than the other. The statuses of Brothers and Badlapur will change perceptions a little. But this question can honestly be answered and evaluated in maybe five years or so. At this point they really are equal.

How? sid has one 100cr movie under his belt and that too without alia.

Varun needs to score big without alia. He benefited from humpty which was a hit mainly due to alia just how arjun got his first 100cr in form of 2states with alia.

Varun has better script sense and is more passionate/hard working than Sid.

I don't think I would have cared for Sid if it wasn't for his handsome face. He was good in SOTY though. But so was Varun. Sid was decent in EK..but Varun will leave Sid behind with Badlapur judging from the trailer.

But I do agree that Varun goes OTT sometimes and he also sucks at crying. While Sid is more subtle and never goes OTT.

That said..Varun has done comedy, action and now drama. Sid not so much.
