Varun should reduce his OTT acting to become a superstar. Don't know about Sid but liked him in HTP.

well, in acting Varun yes... stardom, probably not... In the history of bollywood, who is where or who will be where are decided by which directors approach whom!
On that, Varun had badlapur, but Sid has also grabbed Motwane.

Ranbir and Ranveer are ahead of both but they also started earlier. Ranveer 2 years earlier, Ranbir 5 years earlier. Stardom depends more on brands you are endorsing and your earnings, forbes should show where is varun and where is sid.

I think so... Badlapur looks like it'll be a game changer for him! He's also a much better actor vs Sid, IMHO.

I haven't seen SOTY so don't know how they were in that moviebut I've seen Sid's EV and HTP - he simply sucked in both of them. I thought EV would've been a game changer for him but the movie wasn't all that great in the first place and then his acting didn't help. I don't even know what he has lined up right now. He's very good looking but def. needs to working on his acting.

(intouchables remake is shelved, dont think TFIOS is happening due to Homi being busy with Alia-Sushant film)

Id choose Sid's films and characters anyday

a condient &ambitious student, a sentimental loser, a pasionate and greyshaded lover, an agressive wrestler, a super hero and timetravelling lovestory sounds better than Varun's ott spoilt brat portrayal in 3 movies consecutively

Finally coming 2 screen nomination, what did Hrithik in Bang bang do 2 get a nomination..if HTP ws more than an average wouldnt Sid get a nomination too and its also wid who is present😉

Oh so I guess since this is directed to me I need to elaborate Varun's brand endorsement thing well the only inactive brand is the WeChat one with Pari. I didn't even counted Idee glasses & Coca cola as those were SOTY trio ads 😆. Besides that Varun endorses Nestle fruit juices brand, Gatsby(earlier gel currently deo),Ponds menz range, Panasonic smartphones(watch cricket matches it comes after every over 😆 ) and recently he has been signed for Metro shoes he shot for the Ad few days ago (Hmmm...I see Panasonic & Ponds aren't 'Popular' brands rightt... )
Honestly I have seen Sid only in that Bru Ad with Anushka(where he replaced Imran I guess)
As for Screen awards nomination ;well even though I hated Bang bang I can't deny that HR carried that entire crap film the critics said the same so why not, I don't know if you are purposely ignoring the fact, lemme tell you Sid was hosting Screen awards still didn't got a nomination 😆 Anyways I don't really care about others but glad that Varun got one!! 😳
On a serious note I do agree that every actor has a different strategy & approach on how they want to go about there careers respectively!!

In stardom - mm, no, I don't think so. Too early to say about stardom.

In terms of acting - Definitely, yes.

That said - both their projects look promising. Sid will definitely be ahead this year in terms of BO - he's got Brothers with Dharma and a big male star, Akshay Kumar to boost it. And then Dharma-Excel's next with Katrina which sounds interesting and people have been wanting them to pair up for long. It'll also be interesting to see Katrina act with the younger gen again.

Varun's Badlapur is slightly risky coz of certification and genre but the budget is low. Not going to expect it to be a huge moneyspinner but I hope it brings lots of critical acclaim (like Alia's Highway) along with some good collections. ABCD2 is the more commercial venture and it might be too early to judge the buzz but the first movie did well and this is Varun's forte. Both of his films this year, won't have a better opening nor earn more than Brothers, I feel. But critical acclaim and displaying his versatility is what will win for Varun this year after having two successful commercial ventures last year.

Funny story. I was in India a couple of weeks back and saw Varun's Panasonic ad thingy being advertised right here on IF - it was the most hilarious thing ever. He was doing this wink kinda thing and holding the phone in front of him. 😆
