Karan Singh Grover debut on the big screen - Page 6

Sharing my two penny critique of the film ...Karan I thought was perfect.

I think the biggest negative for the film was projecting it as a horror film .The expectations of the viewers were then misdirected as there was not enough substance to scare an audience going there for the chills.

If the film was advertised as a dark love story with all the ingredients that come with it ..intrigue, passion, jealousy, broken promises, sibling rivalry etc etc I have no doubt the film would have been appreciated more than it has been.

There were a few glaring flaws .The one that really stands out as strange for a production boasting of a certain pedigree is the tarot card sequence 😲 how could they show normal cards instead of tarot cards ? Was it because they had made the film for a particular target audience not aware of these details?

Another thing that I could not follow was the aggressiveness of Sanjana's ghost when she moves in to Anjana's body. Sanjana was supposed to be a docile, loving person so why does she become the reverse when her spirit takes possession of Anjana ? The over hyped sex scene was included only to show this intent to dominate and possess Kabir the Anjana way 😕

If anyone has a valid explanation for a role reversal of the sisters ..leading Kabir to say " Sanjana aaj kal tum kuchh badal si gayi ho " ...please share .

The much flaunted erotic scenes too may have drawn in some to the theatres expecting a lot of steam and they may have been disappointed as the tracks are woven very neatly into the story and over before you can blink. So what I consider as classy execution may be a point for unwarranted criticism by some .

There have been some complaints about lack of songs but a movie with this content does not require a sudden break in story ..it slackens the grip. However keeping Indian sensibilities in mind there are a few songs ...each one short and beautifully woven into the film.
On the other hand there are voices of dissent for even these few disturbances .

So you can not please everyone ..can you ?

Let us accept the salt & pepper and season our experience ...all the while retaining our own sweet impression of Kabir and his effort to reconcile with the love and passion of the twins ...one real & the other a ghost.
