LOL, come again. You think "ugly" people can't make it big in BW, then scan the room and you'll find the likes of Ajay, SRK, Irfan, Kajol, Konkana and many more. Lack of connections and opportunities for a dark person doesn't equate to being discriminated against his color. And yes, dark people don't have to be ugly, but yes again,even dark people can be ugly 😆

He was pretty mediocre in Kick. Sonam was right..people always think ugly people are good actors even if they are mediocre. Another example is Ritesh and Irfan..their mediocre perf is also considered good acting. But when top/famous actors who are good looking give bad performance..all hell breaks loose.

Agree with ya except for Irfan. I love Irfan and his screen presence. Uncle is H.O.T 😆 He is definitely better than Ritesh and even Nawazuddin. Didn't see the big deal with N's performance in Kick. Bas Aivanyi main he's getting the pity party for being not so good looking 😆

Though, I admire his struggle and its great that he kept on working for his dream. But then again, who doesn't ? Everyone has to go through their share of struggles be it anyone including the star kids.

I agree about Nawaz being bad in Kick . He overacted a lot & his laugh was annoying 😵 , Randeep & Salman were much better than him .

I like him too but He was bad in Gunday. Nothing special about his role or performance. But some people were saying he was the best in the film. Come again? Lol I liked Arjun the most in Gunday.

The author didn't even mention the word ugly in the whole article so what's up with the discussions about ugly actors,etc? 😕

I felt by mentioning racism in Bollywood, the author meant to say is since he isn't fair, he was offered roles like a criminal, pickpocketer, waiter and bandit. The part was more about stereotyping than him being dark skinned. Like how people in the forum said Dhanush looks like a rickshawallah during the release of Raanjhnaa.

^^ I don't think Nawaz is over-rated as an actor at all. Not saying this because he is 'Ugly' or something. But I remember watching Bombay Talkies, the guy doesn't speak anything yet weaves magic in the last 2 minutes or so of the movie. He got me teary-eyed without uttering a word.

Same with GoW, he took then whole movie to a different level altogether. He was probabably not that good in Kick, doesn't mean he is called a good actor just like that. (Or because he isnt conventionally good-looking)
