After receiving critical acclaim for Madras Cafe, director Shoojit Sircar and actor John Abraham are all set to start another project titled 1911. Based on a century-old true story of Bengal football club Mohun Bagan's historic win against an English football club in 1911, the film will start rolling at the end of 2015. The prep starts in June, after Sircar's Pikureleases.
A source close to the production house says, "The added advantage for the director and actor is that, one, both of them love football. Second, now they own a team in the Hero Indian Super League called North East United FC, for which they have hired international coaches and will be using the club to work on the pre-production of the film." Smart thinking, indeed!
