PK At 35 Crore Nett For Third Week

PK has grossed 3.75 crore nett om its third Tuesday to take its lifetime total to 312 crore nett plus. The third week collections is as follows.

Friday - 6,50,00,000

Saturday- 8,50,00,000

Sunday - 12,00,00,000

Monday - 4,25,00,000

Tuesday - 3,75,00,000

Total - 35,00,00,000

The third week will see the film doing its best business in Delhi/UP grossing around 10 crore nett which is less than 50% fall from last week. Mumbai circuit will see a 65% drop.

PK Continues To Score In 3rd Week On Weekdays

2014 proved to be a bad year at box office for Hindi film industry and after disastrous November and half of December, Aamir Khan starrer 'PK' was the only hope for survival for exhibitors. But film scored big week and yesterday film became highest grosser in history of Bollywood.

Film has collected 182.58 cr nett in week one which was outstanding number and this is 2nd highest week one number after 'Dhoom 3'. Film scored big numbers in Mumbai and that is why despite low Friday film managed to cross all other releases.

Film had humongous record breaking 2nd week as film collected 95.94 cr nett plus which is just 50% drop after such big week one. This 2nd week total record will be toughest to beat in years to come. Film has broken lifetime territory records too in Mumbai, Delhi/UP, East Punjab, CP, CI and Mysore.

Film held strongly on 3rd Friday as film retained close to 2800 screens. Film collected close to 6.85 cr nett with drop of 55% from last Friday. Film jumped again on 3rd Saturday and collected 8.32 cr nett. Film had huge huge jump of 33% on Sunday and collected 11.58 cr nett and that took 3rd weekend number to 27.60 cr nett.

Film dropped by 40% on 3rd Monday from 3rd Friday and collected 4.42 cr nett. Film added 3.88 cr nett on Tuesday which was solid again. Film has total of 313.57 cr nett and thus film is set to cross 340 cr nett lifetime which is 1st in Bollywood history. Film has such an acceptance that at places it might effect new release 'Tevar' next week too despite being in 4th week.

Film will finish with 340-350 cr nett lifetime business and this record should be there for few years like last Hirani's film '3 Idiots'. Rajkumar Hirani has proved again that content is king. Even with average music, simple marketing and ordinary promos, a film can win classes, masses critics and box office. Power to good cinema!

Film also collected 140 cr in 17 days in overseas and it seems that film will cross 145 - 150 cr there too by the end of run.

PK seems to be on a record breaking spree. After becoming the first film to make it to the 300 crore club in the domestic box office, this Aamir Khan film has now become the Highest worldwide grosser of all time, which has grossed 601 crores so far. With a massive collection in the overseas market of 150 crores, the film has turned out to be a huge money spinner.

PK is again steady on 3rd Wednesday (20th day) at box office as from early reports of the day. Although film started slowly in Morning shows, but picked up well from Evening onward. Drop in occupancy from yesterday is just around 10% which is very much acceptable. Currently PK is registering occupancy of around 25-30% in latest shows which is excellent considering day 20th.

PK has collected around 313.5 crore nett in 19 days. As from early trends today PK should collect around 3.5 crore nett. Actual number will be little higher or lower depending on the Night shows which are yet to start.

PK should touch 320 crore nett by the end of 3rd week. Film has already achieved everything need to be highest grossing film of all time. Now issue is whether film can touch 350 crore nett or not. For that PK needs to hold well even after the release of Tevar which will be released coming Friday. If PK holds well then 350 will be a realistic lifetime business target for the film.
