Salman unintentionally, albeit negligently, caused the mishap. There's a big difference. To even compare the two accounts together is simply wrong. That is also like saying that Modi has no right to condemn terrorism because he fueled it during the Gujrat riots. Remember that?

OK playing devil's advocate for a moment if I may. I don't think anyone is comparing the two incidents. I'm sure the people who tweeted those comments are aware that what happened with him was an accident. I also don't think anyone undermines or trivializes what happened in Peshawar or questions that it was anything short of heinous and inhuman. I think the issue here is Salman's specific tweet about ending even one human life, which he is also responsible for. Not only that but for the past 12 years he's refused to take responsibility for it. He should not be compared those monsters responsible for Peshawar's Black Friday and I don't think anyone was doing that. But the fact remains he's not exactly an example of one who respects the law of the land sort of speak.

Maybe he should have used a different way to express his outrage. Maybe he doesn't even care what other people's opinions are which is his prerogative. He certainly has every right it condemn acts of terror and express his opinions. But that right and freedom of expression is allotted to everyone including people who have responded to his tweets.

I still think everyone's issue here was his specific use of the verse "to end one innocent life ..."

While what Salman did should not be connected to the inhuman terrorist act committed by the Taliban, his tweet is a huge irony regardless. Killing of an innocent should never be excused whether it was intentional or unintentional. At the end of the day, it is a crime so the criminal needs to be punished.

not irony he is stating what is written in quran

No its not an irony PB...any human with a little heart will be saddened by that incident...yes Salman should be condemned for what he has done...no excuses...but to say that he can't tweet against the Peshawar incident is ridiculous...Salman should not even have been brought into this...u know by bringing Salman into this...people are somehow lowering the gravity of what happened with those innocent kids.

No where does the author downplay the seriousness of what happened in Peshawar, no where does it say that he can't express his condemnation, no-one is comparing his crimes with the barbarity that happened in Peshawar, people are just finding that one particular sentence ironic, and it is.

When I saw the tweet on fb I kind of expected the reaction to be like this. Unfortunately salman is defined by his past. Issues like this, violence against woman for him to talk about it will always be equated with his past. Its unfortunate that in life we always want those who made a mistake to try and change and be better bt when some1 actually is than some bring their past in.

Even if we leave the accident alone, Salman was always associated and or rather bragged about his association with underworld /Dawood ( read the transcript of his conversation with Aish) , the terrorist who bombed Mumbai in 93. Going to Sharjah , clicking photos with Dawood was a common thing for Salman. Ofcourse his contribution might be nil when it came to terrorism but he is somewhere associated with them. Ppl forget these stuff very easily cos he is a big star now.
