Shreyas Talpade Accused in Multi-Crore Chit Fund Scam in Uttar Pradesh’s Mahoba

Actor Shreyas Talpade has landed in legal trouble as a fresh fraud case has been registered against him and 14 others in Uttar Pradesh. The case revolves around a multi-crore chit fund scam that allegedly ran in Mahoba district for over a decade.

According to reports, the accused were linked to The Loni Urban Multistate Credit and Thrift Cooperative Society Limited, a company that reportedly lured villagers with promises of high returns on their investments. Agents associated with the firm allegedly collected large sums of money, claiming that investors’ funds would double in a short span. However, when questions arose regarding the legitimacy of the scheme, the agents reportedly shut down operations and disappeared. Following complaints from victims, a case has been lodged at Srinagar police station in Mahoba, and authorities have begun an investigation.

This is not the first time Shreyas Talpade’s name has surfaced in connection with financial fraud. Earlier in February, an FIR was filed against him and veteran actor Alok Nath in Lucknow. The duo was accused of deceiving investors of Rs 9 crore in a fraudulent investment scheme, leading to a complaint at Gomti Nagar police station. Before that, both actors were also named in a multi-level marketing fraud case in Sonipat, Haryana, along with several others. As of now, Shreyas has not issued any public statement regarding the fresh allegations.

Despite the legal trouble, Shreyas remains busy with his professional commitments. He is set to appear in Welcome To The Jungle, a comedy featuring Akshay Kumar, Sanjay Dutt, Raveena Tandon, Arshad Warsi, and Paresh Rawal. Additionally, he is part of the ensemble cast of Housefull 5, starring Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, and Abhishek Bachchan.

With multiple cases piling up against him, it remains to be seen how Shreyas Talpade navigates this controversy while managing his acting career.
