Even though boyfriend John Abraham's Water (directed by Deepa Mehta) is off to the Oscars, Bipasha Basu is yet to work with a woman director. "But I came close to working with one," she protests.

"Pooja Bhatt was the producer of Jism. I don't know what it's going to be like when a strong woman like me works with a strong female director. I hope the results won't be negative."

Interestingly, Bips says that she enjoys being photographed by a man rather than a woman. "I'm less inspired by a female photographer. Having said that, I'd love to work with Mira Nair. In fact, we came close to working together," she says.

Though Sanjay Dutt has not been shooting, he kept his regular appointment with his hairstylist, Aalim Hakim. Dutt stepped into Aalim's salon at Bandra on Friday for his hair colouring. Bole toh, even Munnabhai is vain, kya?

Rea O Rea!

The long holiday weekend saw Ajay Jadeja take off to the golden beaches of Goa. And accompanying him to the getaway was his Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa choreographer, Rea Krishnatraye! But no honeys, don't raise those finely tweezed eyebrows just yet.

A short holiday doesn't mean some work can't be done, eh? And so Jaddu rehearsed for the Sony dance show on the beaches, we assume. And being very much the 'family' man, Jaddu also had his wife Aditi and son Aiman in tow.

But it's not Aditi he was dancing on the beaches with, eh?

Kunal Khemu has been seen in a curly mop of late. So has he curled it? Nope. Apparently, that's his real mop that he rebonded for Kalyug. Now that it's come undone, it seems it's time for Khemu to get real for Madhur Bhandarkar's Traffic Signal.

In the recently released Zayed Khan starrer, Rocky — The Rebel, Rajat Bedi played a negative role.

Unfortunately for him, several of his scenes were chopped to incorporate Himesh Reshammiya's song, One Night Stand.

As a result, Bedi's character suffered as his psychotic track couldn't be optimally established in the film. And to think that track isn't even a chartbuster!

There's no denying that Preity Zinta has hazaar nakhras. But the actress needs to realise she isn't Marilyn Monroe, and isn't going to cause a stampede by making a public appearance.

Recently, we heard a source working on Shaad Ali's Jhoom Barabar Jhoom whine about how Preity has been throwing tantrums and making their lives miserable.

"She threw a fit when locals in London started crowding on the set during the filming of a song with Bobby (Deol).

Instead of being nice to her fans, she started screaming and asking security to cordon off the area. It was only after someone from production intervened that she proceeded to calm down."

Uff, yeh katil adaayein…

Madhur names his gal

Our Bolly junta never gets weary talking about its religious rituals, and most importantly, the barefoot walk to Siddhi Vinayak temple every Tuesday. Madhur Bhandarkar is also an ardent follower of the deity, and so has named his three-week old daughter Siddhi.

Says Bhandarkar, "I've been religiously walking to Siddhi Vinayak every Tuesday morning. I'm so attached to God that I had to name my daughter after him."

Well, apna veteran director JP Dutta had also attributed his daughter Siddhi's christening to his spiritual inclinations. We won't be surprised if other would-be Bolly parents follow suit.
