Deepika Padukone may have risen to the top with a number of successful films in her kitty but the actress also ended up losing a bunch of opportunities where she could have been part of some super-hit movies as well. For once, the actress has come across several instances when she was offered movies opposite Salman Khan, but it never matured into a good deal and the actress ended up rejecting the chance to act opposite him.

Not many know this but she was meant to debut in Bollywood opposite Salman Khan and not opposite Shahrukh Khan in Om Shanti Om. She told a leading website why she ended up rejecting the chance to debut with Salman, "I wasn't ready. I was too young and unclear about which profession to choose at that time. A lot of people thought I was foolish to let it go, but I guess it was destined. But I am glad that I didn't do the film, because I know I wouldn't have done justice to it and our pairing then." Recently she even gave an interview to a magazine saying Salman and she are like star-crossed lovers.

Elaborating more on it, Deepika said, "We are not star-crossed lovers, I meant we are like star-crossed lovers. I always use this line because I always feel that from years people keep offering us films together but for whatever reason it never happens. In reference to that I meant we are star-crossed lovers." It has not been a total loss for the actress, there have been times when she ended up bagging films like Ram-Leela and Chennai Express which were rejected by Kareena Kapoor.

Prem Ratan Dhan Payo Deepika Padukone was apparently approached by Rajshri films to act in Prem Ratan Dhan Payo opposite Salman Khan but due to her already packed schedule with films, she had to rejected the film which landed in Sonam Kapoor's lap.

Shuddhi Shuddhi was supposed to see Deepika and Salman pair for the first time in a Karan Johar production but Deepika opted out and chose Bajirao Mastani with Ranveer Singh instead

Sultan 2017 release, Sultan was also rejected by Deepika, yet another movie with Salman Khan in the lead role. Looks the damsel is more than happy with the SRK camp and so is not opting to work with Salman.

Roy Deepika Padukone who is doing Tamasha with Ranbir Kapoor rejected Roy with the same actor. The role later went to Jacqueline Fernandez, even Arjun Rampal is part of the ensemble cast of Roy.

Dhoom 3 Deepika Padukone was apparently offered the lead role in Dhoom 3 which later went to Katrina Kaif. Guess the actress doesn't regret this choice for there was hardly any scope for the leading lady in the film.

Jab Tak Hain Jaan Deepika even rejected the role in Jab Tak Hain Jaan which later went to Katrina Kaif. May be the presence of Anushka Sharma, her current beau's ex may have been a strong reason for backing out.

Fast And Furious Rarely an opportunity comes by, when an actress in Bollywood gets an offer to star in a Hollywood film. Deepika was one of the blessed people who got offered a role in Fast and Furious, but the actress rejected the role in the movie citing date issues.

Kick Well, the actress was offered a lead role here but that of an item number which later went to Nargis Fakhri. Deepika felt that it would conflict with her item song in Happy New Year and so opted out.
