Just back after watching HNY

My humble review:

The movie is 3 hours long, but there's so much song and dance going on (pun intended 😉 ) that it doesn't drag. It's a song-n-dance-SRK-struck-comic-acts-burglary flick. Heist is too ambitious a word. Will explain later.

The intros of the characters are good and funny, though they become monotonous after the first one.

The entire plot is revealed in the first 15 minutes and that's it! No more progression after that. There is no twist in the climax, more like an anticlimax. The villian is not some super evil being or a crazed genius.

The reason I call it a burglary, is because a heist involves very elaborate planning, execution and aftermath. But we are never shown any such details. It's almost too easy.

SRK's intro is great, but his Charlie is not larger than life, like in his earlier movies. Loved his dialogue about loving India despite her flaws.

Deepika's role is more of an embarrassment for her.

Abhishek is a revelation! Nandu's mannerisms, his quirks, his snake dance, every aspect 👏 (Wouldn't mind his father tweeting about his son's fabulous performance this time 😉 😆)

Boman looks uneasy in his role. Sonu is there only to flex his muscles. Vivaan looks lost among too many stars. Jackie looks tired and should retire.

The movie is a good timepass, not some earth-shattering cinema. Only 3 songs stood out : Lovely, Manwa and 2-3 versions of Indiawale.

Though the promos looked gaudy, tacky, the movie doesn't. It looks rich as it's portrayed on a luxurious canvas.

Despite its flaws, I enjoyed the movie and can watch it a couple more times 😉 (and more times just to discover the shop from where Boman Irani bought his bag).

haha, I think some fans think Lovely is not an act of arousing the public 😆 No one is saying Katrina isn't doing that in her songs, only difference is Katrina can dance.

'Saroj Khan Saab' ? 😆 😆 Seems like Geeta Maa and Farah teamed up against her, exacting vengeance, can't stand such people, hyenas rather.

I hope SRK and Farah watch this review, at least the first part where he lays out their dynamic and Farah's idiocy of dishing it out but not being able to withstand the heat when its directed at her.
