Shaan shortly begins his silver-screen innings with the sit-com Balwinder Singh Famous Ho Gaya, where he plays a simpleton alongside singer-friend Mika Singh. The film is scheduled to open at the cinemas come Friday September 26.
He also informs to have tied up with musicians Gourov Dasgupta and Roshan Balu and the trio is called Superbia, meaning pride in Spanish.
What's playing on your I-pod?
I'll be selfish with this one as my maiden upcoming movie Balwinder... is all set to release at the theatres soon. So currently, I am only listening to its playlist. I'd specially like to mention the quirky club track Kenny Ji here which is unlike my usual bouquet of songs. It is a self-composed number and dedicated to the popular American smooth jazz saxophonist, Kenny G.
Who's your favourite in the following?
Musician: Stevie Wonder, the world-renowned American all in one. On the home-front, I can only think of the name, R.D. Burman.
Singer: Undoubtedly, Kishore Kumar. I have idolised him since childhood. After him, it's Sonu Nigam now.
Composer: I'm also fascinated with the timeless haunting melodies of Madan Mohansaab. And among the contemporaries, it has to be the hitmaker Pritam Chakraborty.
Your favourite musical instrument:
Preferably a guitar. Plus my voice!
Your favourite indie artiste both Indian and international:
In India, Daler Mehndi comes to my mind instantly. Overseas, it's a long, unending list of artistes. John Legend, Usher, John McLaughlin and I can just go on and on...
