I dont know how it works in India, but generally if Hollywood, the percentage of profits of DOMESTIC really important, as they will gain of those amount at least. but overseas collection, they need to share it with foreign distributors. so profit gain smaller than domestic one.

God forbid! Touch wood it doesnt happen. Dont give them any crazy ideas yaar!😡😆

Nah what happened with DEI is a strong signal to other small fries though: dont come for FawadFever unless you are a biggie!😆 Plus FF was a wake-up call for BFF: she wont believe her own hype anymore now!🤣

Actually Finding Nanny budget is more or less with KS which is around 12 cr. but I guess due to BFF+ cousin combo, they sell it to distributor high, up to 32 cr. that why it is flopped even the first weekend indeed perform decent for 900 screens. The second weeks suffered the most. DRASTICALLY. 3.5 cr for 2nd week. But KS could get 8cr

They will be added later, i suppose. It is only interesting for them if the movie stars a biggie or makes big waves @ the B.O. home like Queen & Kahani did. Look how they are talking about BangBang records in Pakistan, conveniently forgetting to mention that KS made it big there too & is/was No2 after a Salman movie only!😆

When movie finishes its run, I am sure producers will update their numbers & distributors will finally tell it all. Hope Papa Kapoor will give an IV then & say how it beat DEI despite controlled release!🤣

Yup! Never oversell it, better sell it for less & make a smaller benefit margin than being greedy! That is why KS released on so little screens because of the clash. That way, they are sure to have no loss even if the film doesnt do well.

FF team was overconfident, & they confused hype with reality. => they got badly burned. Fox probably made investment money back, but no profit so flop!

I call it Karma! Because God doesnt like ugly.😆

Finding Indian Love: A thing of beauty

After the collective sighs of people swooning over Fawad Khan caused a dramatic storm last week, I felt I should go see what the fuss was about. My findings: Fawad Khan vakai hot hai.
However, I left the film feeling it was not Fawad Khan but I, who was khoobsurat (not only because I am one of those impostor girls with a Bengali name who's actually Punjabi, hee hee). That almost never happens after any commercial film.
Once most Hindi films had strong love tracks. No one labelled them films only for men or women. Now, rom-coms are often called chick flicks, implying they are spawn of a lesser cinema. In the film class I am teaching this week, nearly every student saw Haider, not a single one saw Khoobsurat. They looked a bit alarmed that the teacher had.
But, the romantic comedy is an interesting, even influential space, which works out changing relationships between men and women, shifting notions of heterosexual romance. Sometimes a great one comes along, like Band Baja Barat.
Khoobsurat is not, in that sense, a landmark of the genre, suffering as it does from a chaotic script and a first half that seems uneasy with itself, rushing away from a scene before its quite begun, like a skittish playboy.
But oh, it could have been! Here's a film that loves women with a big-ass heart.
It's deeply empathetic to their particular loneliness, the way in which they need love.
With a rather sweet and loving man by her side, Kirron Kher is able to go around freely dispensing her overbearing, interfering, bosomy love. While Ratna Pathak Shah with a distant man luxuriating in his own self-hate, finds herself alone and does her best with a kind of assumed bossiness. And behind Sonam's exasperating exterior (and scatter shot performance), its clumsy bravado, we see the bruised heart of a girl who feels not quite right because she feels not quite loved as she is.
The biggest relief of Khoobsurat is that women are not de-sexualized- nor do their parents expect them to be. Sonam's Mili frequently gets 'gande gande khayal' (for a Disney film) and discusses them with her mom. In this, the film has a far more radical heart than the lovable but squeaky clean Queen because it doesn't place women so squarely in the frame of sociology.
The film is equally empathetic to its men - they are not macho and masterful, but tentative and confused as well, yet eventually loved. And it manages to avoid the temptation of turning the romantic competition into a vamp.
If you are a woman who is a bit 'too much' --who has always felt little loser-ish compared to the thin girls in beige dresses and hair that stays in place, who has never been short of men who seem to enjoy you, but always decide you're too much to handle, leaving you in a hole of self-doubt that takes a lot of climbing out from - Khoobsurat makes you not care that you don't look like Sonam.
The film is uncommon in engaging with love as a concept. Love heals the maharaja's body and Sonam's tentative heart. Love liberates the prince from his template and unlocks Ratna Pathak's tenderness. Heck, love even offers a counter to capitalism, a different way of doing business. Love, we see, can be late, but it's never too late.
I wish Khoobsurat had been much closer to perfect, less ungainly. But, the love in the film, its khoobsurat khayal, makes me love it back. After all, as with the film, love is never 'correct' but it is always right.

Would like to do roles like '3 Idiots', 'Munnabhai': Fawad Khan

New delhi, Sep 15 (IANS): Fawad Khan, one of the most sought after actors in Pakistan, says he would love to take up roles like "3 Idiots" or "Munnabhai" in future.

A fine actor, he has carved a niche for himself in his homeland with his performance in movies like "Khuda Kay Liye" and successful TV shows such as "Humsafar" and "Zindagi Gulzar Hai".

Now he is all set to woo the movie buffs here with his first Bollywood film "Khoobsurat", which hits screens Friday. Post that he wishes to play all rounder kind of characters on the big screen.

"I would want to depict roles that has everything, something that is called mainstream here. '3 Idiots' and 'Munnabhai' series are few examples of mainstream films and I would like to do such roles," Fawad told IANS.

"I want to crossover completely and do every kind of roles," added the actor, who enjoys a huge fan following here too, thanks to his TV series, which are now beamed here.

His success mantra is to add perfection to his characters that he gets to play.

"My roles in all my TV shows had some kind of flaws. I never got a perfect role to play, but I tried to play all the imperfect roles perfectly and make it better," said the actor who was in town along with his co-stars Sonam Kapoor and Kirron Kher to promote "Khoobsurat".

The actor, who plays Vikram Singh Rathod, a serious no-nonsense kind of guy in "Khoobsurat", a remake of Hrishikesh Mukherjee's directorial venture, clarifies that there is no similarity between him and his character in the fun-filled drama.

He said: "I am not at all a boring and quiet person in real life, something that my character has been depicted as in the film."

When asked how did he prepare for the role, he thanked ace designer Raghavendra Rathore, who has royal lineage, and said: "My clothes in the film were made by him. So whenever he used to come, I used to observe him a lot. His mannerism, royalty, and the way he talks with people, helped me lot."

Also a singer, Fawad is open to collaborate with Indian filmmakers on music front.

"I was asked to sing a song in 'Khoobsurat', but I denied the offer. However, in future, I won't mind doing it," he said.

Bang Bang Excellent Haider Decent Daawat E Ishq And Khoobsurat End Their Runs

Daawat E Ishq grossed around 5 crore nett in week two to take its business to around 25.50 crore nett.

Khoobsurat grossed a decent 8 crore nett in week two to take its business to 24 crore nett and its lifetime business will be around 24.50 crore nett.

PS: Verdict is in pending (okay maybe it was released but Need to pay bla bla bla to get the details on it, Or It is hidden somewhere, I'm noob 😆) but 2nd Friday of Haider just 1.8 cr which is more or less than 2nd Friday of Khoobsurat?!🤔
