I think maybe the times he had tried them were the times such films weren't accepted. Phir Milenge & Khamoshi both came way before it's time. If given chances today. They can succeed. Maybe not be top grossers but certainly a successful film. Even SRK's Swades or Dil Se weren't hits.

That time he didn't have any pressure to be no 1 .Now may be he is scares to attempt such movie

I really want Salman to do a few performance oriented roles. Not just all the action and stuff. The movies he is talking about didn't have good scripts so didn't do well. I think Salman is so invested in box office numbers that he doesn't try to reach out and try different genres. Instead of pondering upon the numbers game, he should look into the script. Find a good , meaningful script and I'm sure he'll do well. I know that Salman doesn't care much about the "acting" quotient of his films. He is more invested in the action, how fit he looks, how fit the heroine is, etc. But I think he is capable of good ACTING performances as well if he focuses on it and people will accept him.

The problem with Salman is that he refuses to act...make an effort...They will accept u if u really work hard for it...Off beat movies can't have Salman playing Salman..they will require Salman playing the character...because if its an off beat movie...the major draw will come from the classes ...not the masses...and classes will require a good movie to make it a hit...

Audience will like yu in offbeat roles as much as they like yu in masala movies

Well seeing as his fans boast of his humongous fan following one would think his films regardless of genre would do well, as they would flock to the cinemas to see their beloved bhai anyway.
