No offense but why does Aamir talk about violence? What was the rating of Ghajini? It didn't have A certificate. It had tremendous violence and that too for just thrills. There was no reality or message conveyed the way violence is in Mardaani to show some hard truths.
A guy who had songs like DK Bose playing across national television and radio should avoid talking about responsibility in conjunction to films of other stars.

Genie made a good point about SMJ episode on child sex abuse and rape on prime time! If they can be shown to raise awareness on issues then why not Mardaani?

Children know a lot more these days due to news and 24 hour TV channels plus internet. Given how cases of crimes against juveniles are on the rise, a film like Mardaani is only opportune to alert masses.

You can't protect children from anything. Even in late 90s shows like India's Most wanted, Haqeeqat, Kagaar were telecast several times a day. 24 hour news channels flash grisly details of all crimes. Sony often shows Crime patrol the whole day!
What can parents keep a tab on? Even if few parents don't let kids watch anything still kids learn from other kids who have seen such news or shows. They discuss at school whatever they watch.

As a friend of Rani..he shudnt HV made such a statement bcz the film has just released.his words have weightage .and yeah..hypocritical much..satyamev jayate shud be aired at night then ,since it revolves around hard hitting realities of life which children should not be aware of..lol

I think it is high time India switch to a PG system instead of U and A.

Parental Guidelines are suggestions that the film maybe unsuitable for certain ages. Usually there is a short explanation as to why the content is unsuitable. Ultimately, it is the parents choice what their kids see. A parent may bring their 8 year old to see a PG-13 movie. Accompanied minors can see R rated movies. NC-17 means that no one under 17 can see the film.

NC-17 replaced X after po*nographers started using X, XX and XXX to advertise how graphic their films were.

Yup, PG system is better. At home, parents have choice to FF some scenes, but in cinema, u r stuck. I was stuck watching- Hey Ram.. with my parents and other olderlies.. we were misled to blv this film has to do Mahatma Gandhi and his non-violence msg... f**k... it was such a crap movie, I wud have slapped Kamal Hasan if he was there.
On the topic, Its really not necessary to go to theatre to get the msg... u can watch it home when its available and parents can do the editing with remote.

I wud def. not let my son watch it..hez only 5. nor let my niece watch it.. shez 10.

But, I have to watch it first to make any decision. 😆

Agreed with Amir Khan. Everyone need to know that children learn from what we doing, not what we say.
Just try it to your kid, they will to follow what they saw from you, not what are you telling them.

Him and Salman ate from the same plate. Manipulative. or manipulate poor people so you can sell yourself and your movies.
