I didnt want Biru either.Lakhan role is tailor made for Ranveer.They can choose Akki as Ram.

Rohit Shetty stirred a hornet's nest by announcing through advertisements that he will directing the remake of Subhash Ghai's iconic movie, Ram Lakhan. What was interesting to note was that Rohit had joined hands with Karan Johar and Mukta Arts for this remake venture. Almost immediately speculations were rife that Karan's protgs Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra would be cast as the two main leads in the movie. With no official word coming from Rohit Shetty, talks of Ranbir Kapoor and Arjun Kapoor being signed also started doing the rounds. But the man who is at the helm of affairs, Rohit Shetty prefers to keep his card close to his chest.
When we asked Rohit if it was his decision to remake Ran Lakhan, Rohit said, "No it was Karan Johar's decision to remake the movie."
The movie which is today remembered as one of the iconic movies to have emerged from the stables of Subhash Ghai will return back in its new avatar in 2016. Rohit revealed that Subhash Ghai was extremely emotional when the subject of remaking was broached. "He was very emotional but happy too," said Rohit.
While many filmmakers desist from officially remaking iconic old movies, Rohit Shetty is of a different mindset. When asked why Ram Lakhan was chosen as a remake, Rohit shot back asking, "Why not Ram Lakhan?"
Rohit however chose to stay mum when asked if he would be able to match or better Subhash Ghai's Ram Lakhan.
Rohit Shetty's Ram Lakhan will release in 2016.
