In India, I think Salman at the moment. If we are talking about blockbusters, Salman has 5 All Time Blockbusters in his bag (Maine Pyar Kiya, Hum Aapke Hain Kaun, KKHH, Dabangg, & Kick). So yeah.

Work wise, I like the scripts and film topics Aamir picks up. With the exception of Dhoom 3, I liked most the films Aamir has done over the past decade or so. But , according to my preference, I like Salman and SRK as OVERALL stars.

SRK is the most versatile. From villain roles (Baazigar, Darr, Don series) to romantic hero (DDLJ, KKHH, Kal Ho Na Ho) to intense ones (Chal De india, Swades, Dil Se etc) to college student to comedy.

Aamir has the best topics and issues. (Most sensible scripts)

Salman looks the best and has a huge star power ATM.

All three have something they shine on so I can never say that one is better than the other.

One can notice that every year since 1990; Srk's rivals have changed from Sunny (90 to 94), Sanju (94 to 98), Salman(2009-), Aamir (2001-2005), Akshay (2007 around) to Salman again. BUT SRK never changed at the top comparison.
Iit's always SRK who is constant and is being compared with!

None of them are! They need to release their movies on non-holidays. That would determine who is and who isn't.

Also srk excessively promotes his overseas, so its inevitbale he's the king of BO.

Even in 2003, it was salman verses Srk verses Hrithik. It was only in 2006 and 2008 when salman was going through a horrible phase but then he bounce back.

Salman SRK were always rivals, it's not that only Srk was competing and salman was giving him competition. Remember when Srk paheli failed and Salman had two big hits, MPKK and no entry in 2005

Salman was never considered a threat to Srk back then i remember it was Akki , Hrithik mostly ... Salman has max no of flops than any other superstar in the 2000s Lucky , Jaaneman ...
Infaxt in films like HTHTS he was even considered as a Side Character
