Singham was on TV every weekend and probably one of the most spoofed/copied acts on TV shows. Even the Bajirao Singham background music and dialogues like Aata maji satakli were popular. Aaj Tak used it often in their animated segments on spoofs on politicians.

The previous Singham succeeded without any promotion at all. It was liked by real life cops too. All this speaks for popularity of Singham as a package.

I feel cops found it cathartic to see filmi cops take on corrupt politicians in their own way while everybody does like Rohit's brand of action with flying cars, uprooting lamp posts etc.

Add to it that Singham 2 is probably the best promoted Ajay film till date. That adds to a winning combo.
