Singham Returns Storms Box Office, Headed For 80 Cr Weekend?

Blockbuster jodi Ajay Devgn and Rohit Shetty's film Singham Returns, which released at 4,000 screens today, took a massive opening during the morning shows. The film gained momentum and maintained its relentless hold over the box office counters throughout the day. The late afternoon shows registered a minor drop in occupancy but footfalls climbed to 95 to 100 per cent during the evening shows. Today being a national holiday, the film will continue to roar at the ticket windows and tradewallahs believe it will earn Rs 27-30 crore today.

Rajesh Thadani, Multimedia Combines

In Mumbai, the response to the film has been astonishing. The first-day collections will be around Rs 27 crore, all-India, and Rs 9 crore in Mumbai. The film has a total of 1,200 screens in Mumbai and will benefit from the national holiday today but collections will drop tomorrow and rise again on Sunday. At the end of the four-day weekend, Singham Returns should notch up Rs 80 crore.

Brijesh Tandon, HK Tandon and Company, Delhi-UP

Without a doubt, this film will be a blockbuster. On its first day, all-India collections will touch Rs 25 crore and in UP-Delhi, close to Rs 5.5 crore. The film released at around 500 screens in the Delhi-UP region. A film like this evokes patriotic feelings and what better day to release than Independence Day?

Surendra Saluja, Lakshya Movies, Punjab

Singham Returns, which released at around 250 screens in out circuit, received an extraordinary response and opened at 90 to 100 per cent occupancy. The evening shows are also house full. In East Punjab, the film will earn Rs 1.5-2 crore. The momentum is expected to be constant during the long weekend.

Debashish Dey, Aum Moviez, West Bengal

The film has elicited an extremely positive response and is a pure treat for Ajay Devgn and Rohit Shetty fans. It is not a typical multiplex film but it has garnered an equally impressive response from single screens and multiplexes. With around 180 screens here in West Bengal, it will reel in Rs 1 crore today. Ticket prices are not as high as they were for Kick, and during the four-day weekend, we expect the film to clock fabulous numbers."

Gaurrav Gaur, O'Real Imagination, Rajasthan

Singham Returns is running house full. It's all-India, first-day collections will be Rs 25 crore and Rs 1.4 crore in Rajasthan. But by the weekend, collections will total Rs 80-85 crore, all-India. The film released at around 180 screens in our circuit.

Rakesh Singh, Maa Sona Films, Bihar

The film has evoked a blockbuster response in Bihar. Together, Rohit Shetty and Ajay Devgn are the number-one action jodi in the industry. We expect the film to generate Rs 85 lakh today. It released at around 200 screens. Not only the masses but the classes are also enjoying the movie. There was no major drop in its numbers today and the weekend will be gigantic.
