When will COVID disappear completely

I got it last month. This time, the COVID symptoms were totally different from the previous COVID-19. I guess it's the new variant. My last COVID was long-COVID, got it for 6 months, post-test showed lung damage; thankfully, this time it was two weeks. If anybody gets it here, look out for blood clot symptoms.

Since I am asthmatic, I have rarely left my house since the pandemic was declared. Unfortunately, in 2022, I got it from a neighbour who went to a concert (They still apologises). I tested negative for COVID after one or two weeks, but the persistent cough and fatigue stayed for six months, and I became overweight, couldn't exercise or walk for long distances. I have two types of inhalers; the doctor asked me to double the dose of my preventer inhaler. There was no other medication.

I fully recovered in 7-8 months, but my lungs are more sensitive now. I joined the gym and lost my COVID weight by mid-2023. Hoping this infection would not screwup anything more.

About Flu vs COVID

Flu poses higher immediate risks to children(under 5) and vulnerable adults (elderly, Immunocompromised) than the general population. But COVID is generally more dangerous due to its long-term effects and broader organ targeting.

• The influenza virus is primarily a respiratory virus (the virus binds to the upper respiratory tract receptors). Coronavirus can access the lungs, heart, blood vessels, and kidneys.
• Influenza rarely causes Hyperinflammation (cytokine storm) like coronavirus, which can lead to multi-organ failure.
• Flu death is mainly due to secondary bacterial pneumonia rather than hyperinflammation.
• Risks of blood clots are higher in COVID.
