There are a lot of people that should be there before her and I saw someone mention Naseeruddin Shah, Sridevi and others, you know what they may not be as popular but their one performance has contributed more than Kat's entire filmography.

As for being popular if you look at twitter and tumblr and other places I see PC, DP, Anushka even Sonam being popular, there is no way to measure it so being popular applies to all of them.

Anyway good for Kat and her fans.

In terms of acting, PC should be there. But like you said, if it was just about that, the likes of Naser would be considered. Konkana, Shabana, Shobhana etc should have been there too if it was just about acting. But they included the likes of DP, Kat for a reason. Its just a business. They want to make money through gate revenue and having mainstream popular stars is the way to go.

As for Kat's popularity, she's been up there for many years now. I live in India so you can gauge it to good extent. DP has also become very popular in last couple of years. Sonam, Anushka etc are no where near at the moment. Neither financial wise or familiarity wise. Kat's songs are massively popular even in rural areas. I live in South where BW films are secondary still people know SKJ or Chikni. They wouldn't even have heard about the likes of Sonam in those parts. Often songs are more popular than films itself as they play it every where including tea shops, saloon etc. And she has massive male fanbase as they find her sexy.

on what basis does she deserve to be there? its bullshit. i mean what has she offered to indian cinema? a few item numbers and disastrous performances and many good films foiled by her.

I remember when they had a poll in 2000 for the first Bollywood wax figure in Madame Tussauds. The nominations were:

- Amitabh Bachchan

- Raj Kapoor

- Shah Rukh Khan

- Madhuri Dixit

- Sridevi

- Aishwarya Rai

And everyone was upset when Ash won the online poll saying the same things y'all saying about Katrina "she can't act" "famous for looks" blah blah blah...

till now all the indian stars at MT are popular with European audience.. (the old movies KKKG,KKHH,Devdas,KANK,Kal Ho Naa Ho etc were translated in german & french and are even now shown on TV)

but Katrina ? I wouldn't be surprised if she will be the least popular figure of all...

No it doesn't...It is a freaking WAX statue at MTs...not an Oscar...not a Nobel peace prize...no its nothing of that sort...MT makes statues of the popular...not necessarily the talented one...thats why the statue of Justin Beiber there has the longest line of the teenager girls...waiting to get a pic taken with their JB😆...there is no such thing as most deserving here...there is nothing about representing a community...MT is not an AWARD given for excellence in a particular field...It is business...they make statues to attract more people to their museum...the more popular a celebrity...the better it is for MT...
