Well you can say the same thing about Ranbir as well! His hype got bigger thanks to dating a superstar like Katrina, Salman's ex at that! What remains unquestionable when it comes to Ranbir is his acting abilities. I would say that it's the same with Ranveer. He was appreciated for his acting abilities in his debut movie & got great offers like RL & Lootera. He did have a low couple of years due to his health & injury on the sets of Lootera. DP only became popular in 2013. I agree that he may not have the star power of Biru but his talent is comparable if not superior. I agree that he still has a long way to catch up to Biru as he has not had a clean solo hit or a Barfi but I doubt that he is an empty media hype due to his relationships! And yeah I am biased here but I am sure that I have it right.

Yes acting wise,Ranveer is the only newcomer who can be compared to Ranbir.People on IF say Sushant as well, but I never found anything great about him.The hype around Ranbir initially was because he was a Kapoor chirag 😆.RK was launched with much pomp and fare. Then came the stories about him being casanova, who cheated on all his girlfriends..Stole Salman's gf..broke deepika's heart etc etc.Relationships gave him negative publicity if anything. Then again any publicity is good according to media.Yes DP became No:1 only on 2013 but even Ranveer became big star on same year.He didnt have any movie release in 2012 and that was a downer.Relationship with DP brought him back to news and then came Ramleela which established him as a star.No denying Ranveer has potential, just saying its too early to call him next superstar.

It's great seeing how the Ranveer Singh bandwagon has come to a screeching halt and toppled over recently 😆 Just the way it should be. The people who hopped on and over-hyped have probably calmed down since he's in between releases and other actors are having their work come out (other bandwagons1!!!1)

As for what Ranveer really is, media hype and all else, his work speaks for him *shrugs* People can talk box office numbers and what makes a 'star' but here, have a reality check: there is a small segment of population which does think about and gasp, prioritizes the actual craft, acting, and choices of work made by these people over money...that sadly doesn't come to any of our bank accounts but some of us are so fascinatingly concerned with 😆

Yeah I always wonder why fans get all so riled up about numbers. As long as it's a great movie who cares what it's box office status is. I hope Ranveer continues to follow his heart & not a trend!

What is with this new fad of dissing Ranveer in every second post coming from?😕

And who is over hyping him anyway? The Industry? The media? His costars? His fan base? His PR Machinery?

As far as I can see, its only on Bolly Forum that he is called the best thing to have happened to Bollywood and then subsequently trashed without rhyme or reason.

Ranveer is not over hyped at all. If he is talked about frequently, its because he has an interesting line up of movies and the fact that he is very savvy with the media and knows how to use them for publicity.

Deepika and Ranveer are barely even seen in public together anymore, so how exactly is he using her?
