Afghanis are totally different race from Indo-Aryan and Dravidian race of Indian subcontinent. SRK and his whole family belong to Afghan Pashtun race who may have got Indian citizenship but culturally they are different.

How and why does it matter seriously if he is from Afghan or India

subcontinent people were predominately hindu afghans and persian settled in the 13-16th century and so this part of the world started to have muslims

I thought all the khans are afghani.. They are Pathan..

I have seen the interviews of the all three khans saying their grand fathers were from Afghanistan.. I think aamir khan is from Herat..

I don't know about other Khans but Shahrukh has mentioned it several times that his ancestors are from Afghanistan.😛
