When you say "Hey They should quit" & When you say "By time, they will come down eventually". Now All 3 Khans when debuted way back during the end of 80's, Audience was fried from the overdose of Big B's / Mithun / Dharmendra kind of those movies which were high on Action / Revenge / Masala trends.

Khans didn't march it to take Big B or others down. They made their own mark. I am sure if Audience would have rejected them in start, they would have fizzle out soon & Actors like Sunny Deol, Anil, Govinda & Sanjay Dutt would have been ruling the 90's.

The big thing to mention though also is that the Khans have constantly been able to re-invent themselves. They have such variety in their roles that they choose. Aamir's roles in Dhoom 3 was completely different from what he did in Talaash, which itself was completely different from 3 Idiots.

SRK in Chennai Express was completely different from army man Samar of Jab Tak Hai Jaan.

Salman may be the only one who has done somewhat similar roles, but even then we can say that the Chulbul of Dabangg was completely different from the sophisticated agent in Ek Tha Tiger.

The problem with the bolded names was their lack of variety, especially Sunny Deol and Govinda who stuck to just doing one type of roles/acting. Sunny with the action macho man avatar, and Govinda with the comedy avatar.

It's a shame though really that an actor like Sunny isn't given enough credit for the star power he once had. The same HAHK, DDLJ type of films everyone talks about...Gadar was the baap of those films at the box office! 😆

Gadar has the maximum footfalls in cinema halls then any movie ever made in India. The reason it is not talked about much is that after Gadar, Sunny couldn't give much bigger or even similar Big hit like that film. So effect of that huge film faded out. While Salman/Srk has given much bigger n better hits than HAHK/DDLJ.

I always feel that for some reason, the newer generation doesn't really have that "it" factor that the generation of the past did. And I am not just referring to Bollywood, I am talking about other professions as well around the world.

I feel that in some ways it may be because the newer generation doesn't have the drive to work as hard as the generations of the past did. With so much access to technology today, the youth (including me) is spending much more time just socializing and caring about each other's life stories rather than having a clear focus on the future.

It's like a "anything goes" type of society today, a I-care-a-damn society. Interestlingly, I think that is also what has made the entire nation of India go gaga over Salman in the recent years, as he represents that "don't care" mentality that is there around the world today with the youth.

I agree...we can take the example of singing...do singers today have the capability to record the song in one go...with so much technology ..do they really have to do that much RIYAZ...or practice...life has become a lot easier...

and sometimes I feel that people are just frustrated...that the Khans are just sitting there at the top...they are not doing anything new...they are not even acting these days...Do people ever realize ..how much hard work and effort must have gone to be where they are now...everyone who has worked hard deserves to enjoy their success..

Exactly! hard work is the key.

For example, people can say what they want about Ra One, but the fact is that SRK put his blood, sweat and tears into that film.

Actors take away time from their families too to wake up early, go abroad and shoot films. And think about all the re-takes. None of us truly know how much time it takes or how many takes it will take to perfect a scene.

Don't you guys think that they are playing very smartly now.
Srk has HNY which is a musical/dance movie, Raesss where he's playing a don, Fan ( not sure what movie is about but I think it's about fans in general lol ), Rohit Shetty next which is a masala type of movie,.

Salman has Kick which is action movie, Kabir next which is a war base movie, PRDP which is a romantic movie, Shuddhi which is a period drama, Anand next where he's playing a dwarf, and Shimit Amin next which is a sport base flim.

Their future movies belong to totally different genres and that's something which will help them and will maintain their stardom

Ya and that's where the variety factor plays in. If Sunny chose to do a variety of roles, it would've benefitted his career to a great extent.

On the topic of Dhoom 4, I think it would work great if Salman was the hero and SRK the villain. SRK could be the evil Don 2-type of villain who outsmarts Salman through the film using mind games and his evil laugh, while Salman would be the macho good guy that just wants to get his hands on SRK.

It would work great with the audience. Half of the audience would want Salman to get his hands on SRK and break him, while the other half of the audience would root for SRK to kill Salman, the same way the audience rooted for SRK to kill Sunny in Darr!

Amazing IDEA, but it won't work for the obvious reason as Srk has earlier tried to copy the same effect with Anjaam, which Audience rejected as it was getting repetitive.

Now with Salman playing full baddie for 1st time would have been a TREAT for audience to see how he enacts that kind of character. Even Srk would get the opportunity to play a GOOD COP taking down the EVIL Thief.
