well on the topic:i think dere are too many people in BW now..so its becoming difficult for people to stick two one or two heroes/heroins in deir minds ...in earlier days dere wer not much actors in BW..only a limited ones..so people got enough movie of deirs and time to accept them whole heartedly...i dnt think SRK/AAMIR/SALMAN were better dan da new lads when dey came to the industry...news gen stars are also talented ,just dat the KHANS have made themselves much bigger and better with time(20+ to 25+yrs)..with the end of THE khans ONE era WUD BE COMPLETED..ONLY THEN DESE LADS OF new gen CAN make it big...else dey will always be in the sahdow of the KHANS.

Hrithik made it bigger because of his figure/looks , and dancing skills...acting is not extra ordinary..i dnt think many actors have dose LOOKS dese days..plus papa roshan is a very good filmmaker..he got lucky wid his debut..it was a great debut ..

about ranbir...he has selected good films and since he has been associated with the industry since long he made use of it..not to say he is a gr8 ACTOR too...well sometimes some very very good actors comes up...dere are exceptions

and about ur promotional startegy, it can be right...since salman has the repuation of helping people may be some star kids use his name this way to gain the initial attention..nothign is impossible.

So my point of the thread was if producers are able to fill these lead acting jobs through their internal resources, then why would they go outside, take 1000s of auditions, waste their time and money. Its not as if bollywood cares too much about acting. Its all about pulling the audience on friday, saturday and sunday.

If I remember correctly, 2 actors were launched properly with no filmy connections backing. One of them is superstar in making- Ranveer Singh and another is somewhat getting there- Sid.
