no way ... some scenes were funny but i seriously cannot tolerate the masala films drama .. this all started with WANTED.
I remember when I went to watch WANTED .. I just watched it because I used to watch at least one film in theater every week and that week WANTED was released ... no other reason ... I've never been a Salman fan so I wouldn't have gone there if I had planned to watch a particular film .. WANTED was there, I watched it ... but I laughed sooo hard all through the film and forgot all about it by the time I came out of the movie hall ... it seemed like such a welcome change from all the films I'd been watching for the past few years .. I mean I didn't remember the action scenes or romantic emotions or the thrill/suspense of a film like I would for other movies ... WANTED was like a total masala where you could laugh your head off and forget everything about the outside real world and when you are done with the film, you are back to reality with a lighter head and no carry ons ... it felt good ...
BUT hardly did I know that just because people liked WANTED, it would become a trend to have such masala crap films released one after another ... that too with quality going down and down ... I mean it's okay to watch such films once in a while but not every other friday .. I just don't like how they degrade the story/acting etc. just to earn 100 crores ... I know I should not complain because I have the choice to watch a film or not and they will make the films because it is going to do good business .. that is all they want
But the thing is that maybe I am thinking too much but I seriously believe that if people throng into the cinema halls to watch such crap week after week then there is certainly something seriously wrong with the whole nation's mindset ... you can call me out on this and I honestly don't mean to offend anyone but I have noticed a trend .. whenever economy of a country does bad, people watch such shit films to escape the reality of the real world .. I could be totally wrong but well such films were popular in late 80s, early 90s, late 2000s, early 2010s ... that makes me question the health of our nation ... I am just venting out .. don't mean to sound like an Einstein .. and I know masala films were made earlier than 80s too but they used to become hits if they had good actors, fun content, songs and above all there were not that many films made then ... so people didn't have much of an option but still only some good films used to be superhits .. these days all crap shit crosses 100 crores ...
