I'll put my money on Alia any day. She has HUGE potential. Never thought I would say this after watching SOTY.😛

Loved Parineeti in Ishaqzaade but I think she's an average actor and not anything extraordinary. 😛

From what I've seen, I think Parineeti is a lot better, she's very natural.

I prefer Parineeti. Thought Alia was just average in SOTY..haven't seen Highway or 2 States, I'm waiting for the 'Meryl Streep' hype to die down first.

In every bit Malhotra matches up to Parineeti's terrific work with equal gusto. He is gregarious but restrained and there is a serene calmness in his performance which makes him a smashing hit. To compliment Parineeti's boisterousness is quite a challenge and so far he is the co-star she is best suited with.

3. Sidharth Malhotra, in only his second film, is no less effective. Although he starts off by exhorting everybody to shake it like Shammi', his elegantly gangly gait and cool, confident screen presence are reminiscent of the mannerisms of the early Amitabh Bachchan.

4. Rajeev Masand: She has palpable chemistry with Malhotra, who's in very good form as the rudderless Nikhil, conflicted in matters of both heart and career.

5.. Taran Adarsh: Sidharth is a revelation and the scene stealer! He enacts the role of the middle class guy with restraint and complete understanding. It's a mature act, with the one-film-old actor handling the delicate moments with utmost sensitivity, bringing a lot of credibility on table. At the same time, he is full-on charismatic when required, especially in the dance numbers. In short, the two actors, Sidharth and Parineeti, carry the weight of the love story on their able shoulders without floundering even in a single sequence.

Alia had the sources and Parineeti has the critics.

Voted for Alia.

Parineeti has a better dialog delivery, but , she's doing the same roles over & over again & its becoming annoying now 😕 She was hard to bear in some parts of HTP. She needs to be more versatile for us to judge her.

Alia, I agree was bad in SOTY but she improved hell a lot in Highway & even more in 2 States (Watched it today). The girl is not only improving a lot but also trying different roles. She just needs to work on her dialog delivery.

Also, IMO Alia is way prettier. Parineeti is what, 25? 26? I bet Alia will be more beautiful at 25 than Parineeti is now.

Alia is overall a better package!
