This is an OT statement, but since this is about looks, would like to say would take the dark skinned heroes of the South like Nagarjuna over the fair skinned chocolate boy, plastic heroes that BW churns out. 😵

Yeah Mahesh Bhatt's mother was half Tamilian ,half Muslim(not sure which state).

So Alia is 1/4 German, 1/4 Kashmiri Pandit, 1/8 Tamilian,1/8 Muslim, 1/4 Gujju Hindu Brahmin.😆

Watched the film today. In the film Arjun told his mom the same: "Ananya ko dekha hai, woh mere se zyada gori hai". Kunal Khemu who is Kashmiri, isn't exactly fair skinned either. So exceptions are there everywhere. I do somewhat agree though, Alia Bhatt doesn't look even 1% Tamilian. And no Punjabis do not call their dark-skinned children fair, just for the sake of "praising" them.

North Indians are generally fairer yes, but only people from Punjab, Himachal, Arunachal and Kashmir are actually known for their light skin tone.

By the way, I would anyday take the apparently "chocolate" boys over the rikshewale type men 🤓

Please describe how rikshewale men look like
Using rikshawale, kaamwali bai etc words as demeaning words is shameful!

By BW chocolate boys I mean people like Imran, Tiger Shroff, early Saif, Aamir. Not even Sid and certainly not Salman and SRk . Whatever floats your boat dude.

My taste absolutely is towards these rickshaw wala dudes as you refer to them..

My taste is more towards the tall, dark and handsome and oh yeah manly type..👍🏼

The book mentions Ananya as a very fair skinned girl. Though most South Indians are of darker skin tone, some of the caste are really fair. Like in Tamilians I have seen that most Iyers and Iyengars (TamBrahms) are really fair.Like Sridevi,Hema Malini, Vyjayanthimala all are Tam Brahms.

I agree with this explanation. Most south indian Brahmins are more lighter than other castes. Amrita Rao is another South Indian Konkani Brahmin. This also applies to Marathi Kokanastha Brahmins from Maharashtra who are almost WHITE with light eyes.
No offense meant to anyone just adding to the discussion
