Just hope raju hirani doesn't go overboard & hurt sentiments of ppl & religions.. If it does than it will dent raju & aamir image among ppl..
I have been wondering what the story of the movie is and I am sort of concerned. Religion and beliefs are really important to some/majority of the people and sometimes movies/books/art etc. on religions is not handled that well and it ends up hurting people's sentiments. I really hope that's not the case with PK. I am not an Aamir fan, at all. I can't stand him but I might be watching PK because of Raju Hirani's previous movies. To me, Aamir's acting is too artificial - I don't find it organic (my opinion NOT stating a proven-fact)
I have a feeling, if that is indeed the story of the movie, that if it doesn't do well PK people are going to say 'it was a risque movie', 'people aren't ready to accept such deep movies yet', and so on. I really hope they don't come out with such statements because then it starts sounding like sour grapes - be proud of the fact that you tried something (different) even if it fails. I'd rather respect a person who tries something and fails and be able to say 'I went wrong here, I think I'll try it a different way next time' than someone who doesn't try or tries, fails and blames other people for not liking his/her work.
I was really looking forward to watching Talaash (it's not easy for me to watch any of Aamir's movie, I really can't stand his artificial acting) but after it released some statements were given along the lines of 'it was a risk, people aren't ready to watch such movies', and etc. And I don't think I'd be watching Talaash anymore even if I am in the mood for something different in terms of genre of the movies. (I might watch it in future, who knows)
