Just pointing out. Not meant to put down Varun or raise Sushant or anything like that. I have always maintained that for these newcomers, the whole package counts for a good opening, and not just the actor. So please don't take it the wrong way.😊

Main tera hero...released on 2,400 screens...People calling 6 or 7 crore opening a success is too far fetched.

Lots of people have liked the film over here and RJ said that the film is full-on entertainment, if you are a fan of movies of Salman Khan and the old 90's comedy or you just purely want to watch gorgeous people on screen, go watch MTH 🥳 #woopwoop

Okay this film is no masterpiece as I mentioned before it released too

BUT HEY. I haven't laughed so much at movies. The theatre was filled with people continuously laughing.

If I put my fangiri aside - VARUN ROCKED. HE IS ONE MAN ARMY

Everything was just too damn hilarious. A DD fan in me, lived up to the expectations. Even went beyond that.

Ileana was so damn cute. NArgis was aright. Evelyn playing Varun's soon to be Sasu maa. 😆 Anupam Kher is always - good, Anurodhay or whatever his name is. Was good. Reminded me of Sonu Sood a lot. Shakti Kapoor was ott as usual in cameo. Rajpal Yadav made a good comeback haha. His kissing scene with Angad was hilarious 😆. Shaurabh Shukla was brilliant whistling and ringing bell.

This movie is a PURE and CLEAN - slapstick comedy. IT cant win critics and awards. BUt sure win cash registers and most importantly heart😳

VARUN - tussi chah gaye bhai. He was way too good.

Bash Varun, Salman & Sonakshi on IF. Yet go watch their movies. And as often come back with ghanta reviews. Whether be Lootera, Dabagg or MTH😆

Main Tera Hero Box Office Collections: Territorial Breakdown

Main Tera Hero has collected Rs 5.86 crore on its opening day at the box office, which is the 4th highest for 2014 behind films like Jai Ho, Gunday and Ragini MMS 2.

The David Dhawan film would have probably collected around 6.5 crore or more, if not for the India - South Africa T20 semi-final, which affected the evening and night shows on Day 1.

Even though Main Tera Hero was Varun Dhawan's second film, the opening day business is better than films like Shahid Kapoor's Phata Poster Nikhla Hero (5.3 cr), Sidharth Malhotra's Hasee Toh Phasee (4.38 cr) and Farhan Akhtar's Shaadi Ke Side Effects (5.45 cr).

On Saturday (today), the morning shows were better than Friday and evening shows are likely to have much higher occupancy as there are no cricket matches today.

However, since India has qualified for the big final tomorrow, shows from 6:30PM onwards will be affected.

Nahi Ranveer ko to koi bhi nai jaan ta meri jaan...Happy?? Jab Priyanka ki Zanzeer aur Arjun ki Aurangzeb ki Pitayi hui thi box office meh to tab kahan the tum log? Its common sense ki Ranveer ki popularity increase hui hai Lootera aur Ram leela ke baad, especially in Multiplex audiences, he has created his own. I won't force you to believe me so take a chill pill and wait for Kill Dil. =)
