Provoked and B&P are ENGLISH movies, and did well overseas, there are some english moives which don't work in India that does not take away there success overseas.

we can debate all that we want...fact remains she's one of the most recognized actresses. Also, to those commenting on her acting abilities, I guess everyone will have a different opinion based on whether if they like her or not. I am not a fan of a few of the actresses, so it's easy for me to find flaws in their acting (heck! i even think SRK is highly overrated).

But there are certain movies where they shine, and for aishwarya...those were her flop films. She is certainly better than the lot we have today!

She is only a beauty icon and I guess thats how she wants to be remembered as well. India has given so much this lady and she has the potential to become Susan B of India. I don't think that she has drive to do that.

I thought that she would one day start her own business and motivate women entrepreneurs in India or she will speak about girl fetus killings and girls safety in India or that she would actively take on social issues. NO
She emerges only when she ask men rank her beauty # 4 and shows her gratitude (LOL). and then may be few UN sponsored charity events. Yeah and stupid jewellery endorsements. She is nothing but all beauty.

Aishwarya is definitely well known than Rani and PZ..Her brand value is high..Not just looks,the international fame she achieved,her popularity down South,Pageant winner crown,Salman's ex and Bachchan Bahu and many other things have contributed to her stardom..She is an average actress with immense screen presence.One of the best dancers in BW along with Mads,Madhubala

That's not even remotely true.

If she does charity events sponsored by UN still better than other Bollywood actress who are going on talk shows and appearing at fashion events

She has lent her name to countless charities from eye donation, helping raise funds for children with cleft palates 'smile train'.

Just recently on International Woman's Day promoting AIDS awareness. Where we're all the other Bollywood actresses.

Also I don't think Aishwaryia is obsessed with her beauty because if so she would have gotten back into shape after her baby and booked as many films as possible so she could stay in the limelight.

Never seen Madhuri, Rani, Sri Devi and all do that. Only Sushmita.

The rest just go on crappy talks shows, make appearances at reality dance shows, appear wherever they are being promoted and all that other crap.

She is popular only becoz of her beauty (which i found now too ovrated although i like her) n personal life rather than acting! Her acting is alwys below the par or say jst average comparing wid her contempories! She is here bcoz of her'most beautiful women in the world' tag n her personality

Can say the same about Salman and most of Bollywood.

With the exception of a few most are not good actors or dancers.
