And Kank was terrible movie though her role was good!!

But I think now it's changing, many old actresses are coming back kajol aish are also coming back. So the change is happening. Now people are accepting more women centric movies and I am sure now they will be willing to accept the older actresses too.

I hope this movie works for her and she will sign more movies.

No it's not changing. The demand still remains for the newer lot. Of course if people hear that a Madhuri movie is coming out, the fans will rush to the theaters to catch a glimpse. But that's all. Rani is a classic example of what I would like to call " flavour of the season". There are some actresses who remain iconic despite being unemployed, and then there are others that do really good for a particular amount of time and then nobody cares about them anymore. Rani is the latter, so is Preity and I feel Deepika will also be in that category. I think Vidya is in that category too because her star-power has dramatically declined since 2012.

I never thought she had "huge" star power. Without that, she cant really be back in the race, she doesn't have the star power to make any impact. And of course the audience's regressive thinking doesn't help her either. She may have done some powerful roles, but she herself has become irrelevant, and I think her movie will tank faster than the Titanic. Rani may have the talent, but she lacks everything else. Her and Preity are 100% done. Strange because Aishwarya was always considered beneath them, yet people would rather see Ash today than the so called "rani and preity"

If anyone has the ability or POWER to make an impact as a senior actress its Aishwarya and Kareena. They might not be as talented as Rani, and may come with a huge baggage of flops BUT BUT - People WANT to see them, they've both been the highest paid and have the biggest fan following, especially Ash. The way I see it is that if huge stars like Ash and Kareena cant make an impact, then no one can and if they cant be the catalyst of change, then I would say it will probably take another 10-15 years for audiences to change and accept more senior actresses; because if they cant do it, I really cant imagine or see anyone else doing it.

Well it depends what you mean by "carry", because she has many films where she has carried on her shoulders. Carrying is a different topic than a movie being successful. Even in Umrao Jaan her performance was very much appreciated, as with Raincoat and Shabd. She carried many films, but they didn't work at the box office. These two things are not intertwined

Bride & Prejudice is the only female-centric film she did that was a huge success, it did flop in India, but it was still a big hit overall internationally. Something that was unimaginable in 2003-2004. You're forgetting that Rani/Ash belong to a different generation, and there weren't movies like Queen and Kahani at that time.

You're accusing Ash of working with big stars to get hit movies, but you're too blind to realize that Rani did the same thing, can you name ONE Rani movie that did not star a popular actor that worked at the box office?

Rani's popularity boomed in 2004 with Hum Tum which had Saif, who was also in his peak that time, lets look at her other movies:

Veer Zara- Shah Rukh Khan
KANK- Shah Rukh Khan
Bunty Aur Babli - Abhishek ( who was in his peak that time) Amitabh, Kajra Re item number
Black- Amitabh Bachchan


All of her other movies were flops, so what "solo" releases of Rani Mukerjee are you talking about? Which film did she make a hit without the support of a big star? OR are movies like Laga Chunri Mein Daag Or Aiiya considered "hit" in your imaginary world? 😆

Both Ash and Katrina were a major reason for people to watch both Dhooms. That's not debatable. That's why there was such a huge lashout on Katrina because she didn't have any role in the film. Did you follow the promotions of the movie? Most of them featured Katrina, her songs were heavily used to promote the film. I give them both credit for both Dhooms.

Its funny you're using Katrina's presence in Dhoom-3 to make some kind of point. If you want to talk numbers, then take this - I am sure Katrina's entire box office successes made more money for the industry than all of Sridevi's movies combined 😆 Does that prove anything? No. Does it make her better than Sridevi? No. So not sure why you would bring that up because "numbers" wise Katrina beats everybody.
