Guess Who! SuperStar's attitude gets channel to pull show off air

In Bollywood, maintaining a friendly and accommodating equation with the media has taken many stars to new heights. And taking the lead in utilising media interviews, press conferences & public events to build a warm, unassuming lovable image is a reigning Bollywood superstar who delivered the biggest hit ever just last year. Over the last decade, he has set a new benchmark in a positive media image.

Yet, this star is not always as kind, or generous with the media as it seems. Just recently, he compelled a Bollywood based entertainment channel, to pull a show off air for showing content that didn't suit his image! Given, the said programme had dodgy content, whereby body language of actors from public events was decoded. But it did have a steadily growing viewership. So when one episode showed the superstar looking stressed and tired due to a physical injury (arm in a sling), he rained down his ire and anger on the channel's content bosses and worked the phones right up to the network's head honcho! Under pressure, the network had to discontinue the programme itself. And in recent times, this is another one of a quite a few such incidents where the media savvy superstar has compelled members of the media to acquiesce to his wishes.
Another such incident was when a personal matter, related to his family, hit the front page of Mumbai city supplement. The superstar was so angry with the supplement's editor and reporter, that he forced them to come home late at night, and harangued them till the wee hours of the night to explain how did they get hold of this story. In fact, even his wife witnessed some cross questioning. Mind you, this was a phase when the superstar was having multiple run ins with the Indian media. Completely pressured and sleep starved, finally, the poor journalists cooked up a source', for no journalist worth their salt would ever give out a real source's name!
And this reminds me of his ongoing grudge against a leading Indian English news channel. The superstar in question had faced a rough interview with the channel's unrelenting editor, a grudge that he bore against us for many years, refusing interviews & content to the network. What's worse, even their sons were known to feud in Nita Ambani's school!
While the media savvy, marketing savvy superstar in question does have a fair point in getting upset with shoddy body language based analysis, showing his ire and flexing star power for something so minor seems over the top. As do his other reactions. After all, the media cannot just sweet talk a star, and no one, not even larger than life movie stars, have a right, or any business, manipulating content.

The TV channel is UTV stars they had this body language show. He should have been sporting. He was not the only one these shows make fun of. 👎🏼
