My Box Office Predictions for RAGINI MMS 2

This lethal combination that brings box office gold is back this Friday! But this time, it's even more special...

Not only is the film being produced by Ekta Kapoor, but Balaji's RAGINI MMS 2 has a female lead that has been creating waves despite being in Bollywood for only 1 and a half years. Her past history, her good looks, her sex appeal, are all contributing factors to a star...actually, a *superstar* in the making...Sunny Leone!

RAGINI MMS 2 has been making waves for a long time now. The Sunny Leone factor, the promotion of hot scenes of the film (there is a lesbian kiss in the film as well!), the popularity of the Baby Doll and Chaar Bottle Vodka songs, sequel to a successful film...the film has strong buzz!

The film will have a great opening day at the box office, especially at mass-dominated areas/single screens. Back in 2012, Sunny Leone's JISM 2 had a 7.99 crore opening day (according to Taran Adarsh) and the paid previews the day before had collections of 75 lakhs, meaning that if there were no paid previews the opening day collection would've definitely been at least 8 crores. That was back in 2012. Now, with RAGINI MMS 2, the hype for the film is bigger than that of JISM 2 (the popular songs of RAGINI MM2 are a contributing factor for that) and there seem to be bolder scenes in RAGINI MM2. Also, Sunny Leone is even more well-known now amongst the public of India over the last 2 years than she was in 2012 (being on stage recently with a star like Salman Khan helps gain even more awareness). Also, it is the youth that mainly goes to watch films on Friday (opening days), and this film definitely holds appeal for the youth, specifically the males. There is no reason as to why RAGINI MMS 2's opening day collection will not be 10+ crores net!

The only problem is that the family audience will obviously not come to see the film, and as a result the film's collections may not show much growth over the weekend. Also, the multiplex audience may not really endorse the film and may choose to watch QUEEN instead which has had a fabulous box office trending due to great WOM.

RAGINI MM2 will probably not trend too well after the opening weekend as is usually the case with such films. It is because these films already have a limited audience as it is and on top of that films that have horror genre usually lack repeat value. However, the film likely has a low budget, especially because the first film in 2011 had a very low budget. The low budget will work hugely in favor of the film!

So, due to the support by the masses (I fully expect them to watch this film in numbers and for them to like the film as well!) and the low budget, RAGINI MMS should definitely be a box office success!

Opening Day: 10+ crores net

Opening Weekend: 30+ crores net

Lifetime Collections: 50+ crores net

Overall Box Office Verdict: Super Hit

Sunny Leone already has a fan following in India due to her good looks, sex appeal, and her past history as a po*n star. Her fan following will continue to grow, especially after this film.
