If it was hijacked, I hope that it's somewhere safe with those people.

But just the thought of it first being hijacked, and flying for hours end only to crash later makes me sick in the stomach.

The thought of all those people, feeling so helplessly trapped inside, hoping against hope, only to meet their end in a crash sounds terrifying.

A crash is one thing. At least it's quick. But in this case, they suffered for so long.

There were five kids below the age of 5 in the aircraft and 2 infants. Don't know how many women on-board though.

Just saw the Malaysian PM's address to the world regarding MH370.

Apparently, the latest information revealed that the last communication from the Satellite suggested that the plane could have headed to two directions (a) somewhere near Kazakhstan or Turkmenistan or in the (b) Southern part of the Indian Ocean (somewhere near Australia)

Also, the PM confirmed that the plane was up and flying till about 8 am Malaysian Local Time (Bascially, it was airborne for nearly 7.5 hours)

He did not confirm the Hijacking theory, but did not deny it either. But he did confirm that the communication on the plane was deliberatley switched off and the course of the plane was also changed by purpose.

Malaysia's PM says ACARS was disabled. ACARS for MH370 would be satellite can't be switched off. It would need to be physical disabled. Hence hijacking as an option being conclusive. It was in flight for 6.5 hrs !!

Personally I feel its not for any ransom or terrorist attack, they have got what they wanted already. Lets just hope there is some sort of closure for the families concerned.

The part that really sucks about this story is that it took them 8 days now to get to this "hijacked" point. They were searching for debris in the first 4 days.

If only they had split up the investigation amongst countries. It is terrifying to think about the passengers at this point how they are, where they are. And worse part is them being flown around like that. The flight didn't even have Wi-fi.

I took security for granted on flights. This just goes to show there are so many loopholes that can be exploited. This investigation has been so, so, so, so slow if there is a possibility that they are still alive and stuck on some remote island these people need to get to them.

I'm now starting to think that as a security measure, all flights should enable wifi for passangers.

I cant help but wonder how things might have been different if MAYBE this flight had wifi...surely 1 out of 200 or so passengers might have been able to send or post something...

If the Malaysian PM is suggesting places like Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan then how could India miss this? Terrible if true.

It could also be any where like middle east or Pakistan. Its last data is till 8:11am.

I am afraid it doesn't seem like failed hijack also. They managed to get what they wanted. The agencies and concerned authorities were aware of it since Day 1. When you have a search party of 12 countries including China and US who have impeccable satellite coverage , I am sure they just were trying to save whatever is left of the situation.

What is strange is that it seems the plane was easily toying with international airspace for hrs at end.So no clue how no radar picked it or if it did what actions were taken.
