As I had predicted, the weekday collections will be low for Shaadi Ke Side Effects!

Shaadi Ke Side Effects Drops On Monday

Shaadi Ke Side Effects fell on Monday as it grossed around 2.50-2.75 crore nett. The fall is around 50% from Friday but that Friday was affected by the cricket match.

The film had shown a good weekend trend with huge growth on Saturday but obviously with this fall on Monday the growth was not as strong as it looked due to Friday losing a reasonable amount of business. Basically the film flattered to deceive as the business on Monday is not good and the film may just hit 30 crore nett for the week after a reasonable weekend.

The total for Shaadi Ke Side Effects after four days is 23.50 crore nett approx. The drop in the North was disappointing as the business in Delhi and Punjab was actually good over the weekend but saw drops of 50% plus from Friday. Some of the mass circuits actually held up better but that was because they had very low collections on Friday.

'S.K.S.E.' opens bigger than 'Bhaag Milkha Bhaag' internationally

SHAADI KE SIDE/EFFECTS has caught everyone by surprise. The film has opened bigger than last year's smash hit BHAAG MILKHA BHAAG in the international markets. BHAAG MILKHA BHAAG had opened to a fantastic response internationally [opening weekend: approx $ 1.4 million], but SHAADI KE SIDE/EFFECTS is much ahead of that film in U.K., U.A.E-G.C.C. and Australia. In U.S.A.-Canada, BHAAG MILKHA BHAAG had opened at more screens, hence the total was bigger, but SHAADI KE SIDE/EFFECTS has much better screen average on lower screens there. The opening weekend total of SHAADI KE SIDE/EFFECTS is approx $ 1.8 million [Rs 11.18 crores]. Fabulous! ... THE LUNCHBOX has had a super start in U.S.A. [limited release - 3 screens only]. The film is a smash hit in Germany, having grossed Rs 10.25 crores there ... HIGHWAY has witnessed a sharp decline in Weekend 2.

Shaadi Ke Side Effects held up better on Tuesday than Monday as the Tuesday drop was nominal but collections are low now for the film. The film collected a little under 2.50 crore nett on Tuesday taking its total around 26 crore nett in five days.

The collections of the film are better than films like Hasee Toh Phasee, Highway and Yaariyan but the film has much higher costs than these films and even with decent overseas initial business the makers will find it tough to cover costs.

The approx figures of Shaadi Ke Side Effects over the first five days is as follows.

Friday - 5,50,00,000

Saturday - 7,50,00,000

Sunday - 8,00,00,000

Monday - 2,70,00,000

Tuesday - 2,40,00,000

TOTAL 26,10,00,000

Shaadi Ke Side Effects grossed 30 crore nett in its first week though could not do much in the weekdays after a decent weekend. The film fell on Monday and although the weekdays did not see major daily falls, the weekday contribution was just 9 crore nett approx against the 21 crore nett approx weekend..

The film actually grossed good numbers over the weekend in Delhi, East Punjab and Mysore but these circuits fell off badly on the weekdays. The circuits that did not gross that well actually held up better like Rajasthan and CI as there was limited downside.

Shaadi Ke Side Effects is likely to witness a major slide in week two as there three new releases which will lead the market. It had looked like the film may emerge a decent or even good fare after the weekend but the Monday changed all that and now the film will be lucky to cross 40 crore nett
