Sure. But I wanted more, if not the love story, then the focus on Mahabir's life. He is such a layered, complicated man, I wanted to know more about him.

And my friends were shouting to Randeep to remove his shirt.

And they were heartbroken when he didn't.

Disclaimer: if I go overboard trying to defend the movie, sorry😆

Less of Mahabir was part of his character..he couldn't have been like Veera..he couldn't have just sat and told his story! Mahabir was a more complex and a more layered character..This is obvious from his first flashback, his promise to Veera about going back to see his mum, his confession about being a murderer and finally the breakdown..That breakdown was Mahabir at his most vulnerable moment..If he'd lived I doubt he'd have opened up more! Because that would have been him acting out of character..Even if their relationship had progressed, he would have been happier but I doubt he'd have spoken about his childhood in a manner similar to Veera's

I was satisfied with what we got..I'd have liked if Veera had visited his mum..but that was more wishful thinking

Another thing is, movies with such beautiful cinematography are generally described as poetry in motion..Highway is less of a poem, more of an experience

I really hope this movie makes money..because Imtiaz deserves it..I say Imtiaz and not Alia(who according to me owned the movie) because Karan gave us shitty Shanaya..Just proves how important the director is..One of the reviews called Imtiaz an artist..I couldn't agree more!

Refuse to call it poetry because that word gives an unattainable feel to me, something which I can admire and respect but not fully experience and feel it completely.

Flawed because it just doesn't give the 'Perfect' or flawless vibe. It's like a rough sketch. You feel as if there is something which can be rectified and hence it could be sketched perfectly but then the film wouldn't be the same. Something 'Rough-sketch' like makes this movie the intriguing journey it is.

True true! Like I said in my review, people would often describe Barfii and Lootera with words like this..I'd always feel I was missing the experience..This movie is that movie for me🥳

Aaah..now I get what you mean by flawed..but I guess the critics are using it in a different context..most of them are harping about the lack of screenplay..But that's what Imtiaz always said-he had a story, never a script! I, for one, enjoyed those few moments when the camera just followed Alia and Randeep-specially when they were hiking and when she was sitting on the rock..

I have a very short attention span..for me to talk about something for almost a day means something😆

I actually am scared of waiting for a movie after watching and liking the trailer because most of them turn out to be un-intentionally funny.

Rockstar's trailer was extremely deceptive. I loved it and took my whole battalion of friends to watch it. I was in tears during the climax due to all the laughter. My friends still poke fun of me for going gaga over it's trailer. 😆 And I was scared after watching the trailer of Highway because I liked it. Didn't want it to be another rockstar. 😆

Thankfully it's not.

Haven't watched Lootera..So don't know much about it.

I've lost count of the number of times that's happened with me😆..All I expected from Highway was amazing cinematography and good music..glad I got so much more😳
