So I watched the movie yesterday and I absolutely loved it. It was such a lovely movie. Parineeti was absolutely brilliant. It indeed was nothing similar to what she has done before. I was amazed by her performance. She was never over the top or loud. In the last scene at airport, she made me cry. The way she was trying to hold back her tears and then totally breaks down was amazingly done by her. Good for her! You go girl!👍🏼 And Sidharth did such a wonderful job as Nikhil. I was afraid Pari will eat him alive but boy, am I surprised! He totally held his own and made himself noticed. He's got such an amazing screen presence. He holds your attention in every single scene he was in. What an improvement!👏 And He's so gorgeous man. I had my eyes only for him. I'm extremely happy as a fan today. I knew he will prove his critics wrong and he did. Hope he keeps on improving!

Talking about their chemistry, they are adorable together and their kiss was amazing! I loved it so much. Also the hug scene (where Nikhail hugs Meeta) and in the Punjabi wedding song, I had goosebumps. All the oher side characters were good. My favorites are Meeta's dad, Nikhil's dad😆, that Indian Idol guy, and the other guy (the one Nikhil snapped at😆). All the other supporting actors did a great job. Overall, I loved the movie.

I don't know how did she pick up such perfect diction and pronunciation for Mandarin. I lived among Chinese people all my life and I have only been able to pick up basic words in a warped accent, and this girl!

That was genuine mandarin that she spoke😲

'Hasee Toh Phasee' has got love and made money

Karan Johar's company Dharma Productions is in a happy place as far as off-beat, quirky romances go. They have got the formula right not once, but three times over with Wake Up Sid, Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu (EMAET) and now with their latest offering Hasee Toh Phasee (HTP). Says Karan, "In my opinion, HTP worked because it not only broke formula, it also managed to have its own individual voice. Vinil Mathew's script made you laugh and cry, but more importantly it managed to strike a chord with its individualistic nature.''

The filmmaker says that he was pleasantly surprised that so many of the reviews mentioned that after the Kareena Kapoor Khan-Imran Khan love story EMAET, HTP is another film that managed a similar feat of being out of the box and yet so lovable.

"I'm happy that both these unusual romcoms were produced by my company. This not only brings longevity to our brand, it also marks an important movement within our mainstream Bollywood cinema space. In Hollywood too, you have a lot of 'indie' films that, from time to time manage to break the clutter and earn box office appreciation. We too are attempting to do something similar out here.''

Speaking of the chemistry between Sidharth Malhotra and Parineeti Chopra, Karan says, "The term 'chemistry between the lead actors' is used very often. But I think it worked tremendously in the case of Sid and Pari. They are so good together that almost everyone in the theatre is rooting for them. The true test of a chemistry having worked is measured when the audience roots for a lead pair. Of course what is really and truly gratifying is the fact that over the weekend, we (Phantom Films and I) noticed how HTP has earned love and made money. What more can I ask for?''

HASEE TOH PHASEE has emerged the dark horse in the international arena. Like SHUDDH DESI ROMANCE, which caught everyone by surprise, the opening weekend business of HASEE TOH PHASEE has also proved that a well-made film is sure to find acceptance. In fact, HASEE TOH PHASEE has fared better than SHUDDH DESI ROMANCE in U.K., Australia and New Zealand, while SHUDDH DESI ROMANCE is ahead in U.S.A. and U.A.E.-G.C.C.. The *opening weekend total* of HASEE TOH PHASEE is approx $ 1.027 million [Rs 6.41 crores].

'Hasee Toh Phasee' embraced warmly, brings smiles back!

And the business continues to spiral downwards. Barring HASEE TOH PHASEE, which has fared very well at urban centres, the response to HEARTLESS, BABLOO HAPPY HAI and YA RAB was far from euphoric. In fact, the tepid business of HEARTLESS, BABLOO HAPPY HAI and YA RAB reiterates the fact that the clash of multiple films should be avoided at all costs. The clash benefits no one. You don't get the desired number of screens or shows. Nor do you get the desired footfalls, since the audience gets divided.

HASEE TOH PHASEE was expected to dominate the weekend biz and dominate it did, despite an unenthusiastic start on Friday morning. Targeted at the multiplex junta, the biz of this rom-com grew consistently from Friday evening onwards, while the mass-dominated centres remained ordinary/low-key. Saturday and Sunday witnessed further escalation, specifically at urban sectors, which in turn compensated for the not-as-expected business from the mass belt. Let's have a look at the day-wise figures of the film...
Fri - 4.85 cr
Sat - 6.25 cr
Sun - While numbers are still being compiled, early trends suggest 7 cr+ total

In view of the fact that HASEE TOH PHASEE has been embraced warmly by a section of the audience, one can expect the film to maintain a steady march on weekdays as well.

On the other hand, Shekhar Suman's directorial debut HEARTLESS, Nila Madhab Panda's BABLOO HAPPY HAI and YA RAB had a limited release and though the footfalls did [marginally] increase at places [of HEARTLESS specifically], the overall performance remained below par. The non-performance of these three films did benefit JAI HO, albeit marginally.

All in all, this weekend didn't create the desired ripples, but GUNDAY, which arrives on Friday, should pep up the scenario. A section of the industry is convinced that it's the next 100 cr grosser. Will it hit a ton? Fingers crossed!

I concur..i found the whole album to be simply awesome...As a matter of fact i liked each and every song from the album with ishq bulava right at the top! That's 1 awesome song😳
