The buzz for Shah Rukh Khan's next venture has already begun. Here are some great stills from Farhan Akhtar's upcoming remake of the 1978 classic starring Amitabh Bachchan, Don. The music from the original Don will be recreated in the new film, and the current teasers on air already give us a sneak peek, featuring a remixed, club-ish version of the classic theme tune — at the end of the promo. Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy are doing the revamped soundtrack, and among the hits they're remaking are songs like Yeh mera dil and Main hoon Don. The highlight has to be Khaike paan Banaras waala, and SRK has apparently even sung snatches of the new version. Farhan's Don is set to be a futuristic action/thriller, with a very stylised look and feel. Amitabh Bachchan was 36 when Don was made in 1978, his dual role of Vijay and The Don are still remembered as one of his coolest portrayals. Khan, 40, has acknowledged being massively influenced by the cult film —and even hinted in recent television portrayals that his tribute includes unforgettable dialogue like 'Don ko pakadna mushkil hi nahin, namumkin hai.' |
